We're Off Part 2.... AZ-WY-MT-SD-AZ

We did see this hot air balloon landing back in AZ. We always seem to catch them when traveling up this way because they take off early in the mornings when it's calm. Chris @Chris M would know where this is, it's right where the 303 and the I-17 meet by the new Microchip plant.

This is only part of the new Chip plant. It's so big I couldn't get the whole building (s) in, it's like a small city going up.

So far the new Tremor is driving great. Leaving my house in the valley we're only at 1,000' and then Flagstaff is at 7,000'. MPG to there was right a 20 mpg which was a little less than MP1. But with the heavier LT tires, not really broke in yet (2,034 miles) and no tune it wasn't bad. Total mileage so far to the hotel is 530 and I averaged 21.9. I was averaging between 70-75 from Flagstaff to here so I'm pretty happy with that.

Dave have a fantastic trip which will be no problem. Be safe and looking forward to your pictures. Next Friday is when I go on my 10 day trip to Mt. Rainier and the Olympic Peninsula. Wah Whoooo.

I'm hoping to get some good pictures once we get up to either Grand Teton or Glacier. I need a new one for my avatar seeing as a few on here Tracy @Tracy Bowman didn't like my last two. ?

Thanks Mike. lol yeah I'm use to looking out for them. When I lived in MA I was in the mountains and we had all sorts of animals trying to commit suicide. lol

I've seen them fill and launch many a morning there. It's pretty impressive when they get a half dozen or more filling and launching at rhe same time!

Have a good trip. When you get to the Black Hills, always keep your eyes to the sky & look for the blue-green clouds. If you see them, get your Ranger under something. Car wash, gas station canopy, tree, up tight against a tall building....anything you can find. This week we've had a little hail nearly every day. Custer got some big stuff and the valley in Rapid City got a tone of small hail.

That's what I'm most worried about being there for 2 weeks. I'll have to talk to the owner of the cabin we're renting to see what's around there. I know there's a pavilion right near my cabin that has a bbq and a few picnic tables under it. That'll be my new garage if there's any sign of hail coming. I also think there's some large tree around by the pictures I've seen.
