I'm sure I'm an outlier here, but have you considered an F-150? You can get your V6 twin turbo goodness, more room, features, tech, etc.. On the downside, the turning radius sucks, but that's been my only complaint since trading in my Ranger back in December.

Full size trucks generally have a worse turning radius compared to a midsize/compact truck.

Certainly, I expected that and have learned to deal with it - though it seems to be a common complaint even from people who upgraded from previous F150 generations.

This is the tough thing about living in a big city with plenty of deep pockets. The sales teams are not desperate. When I initially rejected an ADM in Las Vegas on a Cactus Gray FX4 the next person bought it. Their attitude was, I think literally; "Ah, yeah, we understand. See ya!"

I wish I had more time to find a replacement vehicle so I could have branched out to smaller dealership. In the end I was able to negotiate the ADM down and looking at even today's prices I would have spent way, way more had I waited. Oh well. Win some, lose some. I look at my truck and still consider it a win.

I'm not paying any dealer mark up on a Ford Ranger....but that's me. Maybe I'm just cheap! LOL But I'm also the guy with a $4000 kayak and thousands of dollars in fishing gear. haha!

I think i paid something over , $1000.00 maybe , they said it came from another dealer and wouldn't wave it , BUT, i got about $5000.00 more on my 11 year old truck that i sold than it had ever been worth before , kind of a push really...

I have no sway with anyone that pays ADM for any vehicle, but I do not understand why someone wanting a vehicle which costs tens of thousands of dollars will not do research to find a dealer that does not mark up their vehicles.

People keep bringing this up and then comparing it to a mass produced trim model.

This is what we call a logical fallacy.

Through my research and historical take, I do not believe the RR will a readily available unit to purchase, at MSRP or otherwise, for the foreseeable future.

I also believe most people here have probably blown $5,000 on useless or expendable shit over their lifetime without a second consideration. lol

I won't speak for others, but I have NEVER in my lifetime blown 5 grand on something useless or expendable. If I'm going to spend 5 grand on something it will be worthwhile and I will have put a lot of thought into it.

I don't necessarily mean all at once.

A good example of this offender would be anyone who is a "collector" of some particular item.

Edit: Funny enough in our current market past few years, the $5,000 I could put into one of my portfolios or retirement accounts would probably be less valuable then actually buying the Raptor as far as a fluid item I could liquidate.

Not that I would ever recommend investment in a vehicle over say stocks, but in the now, which is kind of sad, it actually might make more sense with how the current vehicle market is trending vs how the economy is tanked.

I mentioned earlier that I'd buy it thru Granger with 3% above invoice, but they said the only one they are allotted is going for MSRP and has already been sold. I assume other RR available thru them will be at MSRP with no ADM.

Yes some people are reporting MSRP deals through their dealerships - I am not saying it doesn't happen. I am saying once the current allocations are spoken for, MSRP or +ADM, or otherwise - those wanting to play the attrition game and wait out the power shift for more readily available MSRP units are in for a very likely long wait or worse. Couple that with other manufacturer screw ups, how easily people forget about canceled bronco orders / problems and its just got to compound the problem should that occur.

I assume other RR available thru them will be at MSRP with no ADM.

A dealership can take orders till they are blue in the face, but if there are 7 orders in and next allocation is two or three...

Bottom Line; the demand is going to outstrip the production all else aside.

Anyhow...

My threshold is some extra hours of over time and a couple more evenings of eating red beans and rice (with some cheap cajun sausage tossed in!). Other peoples thresholds are far less, or far more.

Between those extra hours and rice and beans will be weekends of tooting around in my new twin turbo truck and cooking up some steaks while watching the sun set in some field or on some lake front camp site.

But really all this debate may amount to nothing, if the dealership can't come to terms with my threshold, then I walk.

You are correct, it's going to be a long waiting game for most that want an RR (I don't).
But man, don't diss red beans and rice. It's a very economical meal, and very delicious with the right seasonings, and sometimes tastier with the 'cheap Cajun sausage'. Hell, even Eckridge sausages will do.

I contacted Jacks dealer and let them know, no matter what ADM Jack is willing to pay, I'll do 10% more.
Sorry Jack, I am one of those people who has blown money on stupid things I've never needed.

Namely a wife. Show of hands from those who agree.

I've learned my lesson there, but with all the free cash filling up my shoeboxes now that she's out of the picture, I've got to spend it on something other than hookers.
