I went to the shop and stripped everything I could off Money Pit. The taillights were no where to be found so I'm guessing they're either inside the shop with the passengers door or they took them knowing the value. No biggie it would've just been nice to have a spare. So rear seat tilting headrests, hood bump stops and weather stripping, rocker plugs, engine cover, 2 bed tie downs (the others I couldn't get to because my plastic drop in liner was in the way) and all my accessories worth taking.

I had just done a full detail on it on Saturday 4/1/23 and this happened 3 days later. Now it looks like a pile of trash. :frown:

I have noticed that bad Ranger parking is not limited to only Paul @OrangeStreak & me. ? It’s just that so many of them are in denial.:giggle:

Thanks Rob! You know when I got out and saw the damage I had a bad feeling it was a lot worse than it looked. Thanks for the link but I really want a new Ranger with a full warranty. A new color will help me forget this nightmare too. It's like dumping your ex and then dating someone else who looks just like her.?
So what's your thinking a '23 or move over to a 6th gen model ? And you got to decide on a color too, that's the hard part for me cause i like a few of the ranger color choices.

Rob, I already have a deposit on this '23 up in WA. I'm just waiting for the final numbers on mine and will hopefully fly out there within the next week to ten days and drive it back. It's a white Tremor with the 501A and tow package. I really wanted a Tremor and while there's some out there there's not a lot of choices close by.Then add in the slimy dealers I talked to one who wanted $4,000 over msrp and the dealer up in WA was my best choice.

I need a truck like yesterday. lol The 6G doesn't go into production until mid August and by the looks of the pics we've seen I really don't care for it. ?

Sorry to hear Dave! Glad your okay though. For the new truck you really should have dezee and 303 decals all over it. Heck they should buy the truck for ya!
Thanks buddy! ? You just might be on to something there? Maybe I can get them to help with all the new mods I'll need.?

Use these to help get over your fear.

Awesome, thanks for the link! I think I've mustered up the courage, thanks to you and all the great info provided by so many members.

I'm not in a high fake accident area, not like when I lived in Miami, but it only takes one accident to ruin your day.

@AzScorpion's issue is exactly what I worry about. The lady that hit him may not have been as aggravating as her daughter, and I can't imagine how frustrated I would have been in that situation.

Okay, no more being scared of plastic! I'll conquer my plastic fears with plastic tool! =D

Okay Jeff Bezos, here comes some of my money! =p

David it's really easy if you have the plastic pry tools. I tucked it under the headliner to the A pillar. Than ran it down to the ground and the step cover just pops off with a little force and tuck the wire under and up the B pillar. The the same for the rear door but you don't have one. :) Here's a post showing how I connected the rear camera and snaked the wire. I never had to pull any panels off except the step cover.

Ha ha, I had that link of yours bookmarked, but I have so many bookmarks, I missed it!

Since mine's a SCAB and I'd like front and rear cams, what do you think if I run the power to my one single 12V cigarette lighter outlet on the back of the center console?

Since Cheech's bed is a fairly permanent part of the truck, the plug is in spot that will never get messed with. My concern is the length of the front cable but I imagine I can buy a longer cable.

Since I'm so new to this, it seems like some cams need the rear cam to plug into the front one but maybe some are Wi-Fi and don't need that extra cable. It would be neater to only run one cable per cam. I'm not particular worried about catching parking bumps, so always-on battery power is lower on my list (it does make sense since I park on the street often, but the thing would come on all the time with daily traffic (especially all the Amazon trucks coming to the house!). =D

I guess a rear cam with it's own SD card won't need a cable (LOL, what stops someone from installing a higher res cam as a back cam? Cost and size? Or is there some other reason?

Thanks everybody!

The clips are relatively new so they have a very low chance of breaking. Just go them as aligned as possible. You’ll figure out pretty quickly as you start to pry. These plastic tools are great. No scarring if used correctly!!!
Never assume this is me: " No scarring if used correctly!!!"

Give me a cold chisel and two-pound hammer and I'm all over it! =)

David I'm not sure about tapping into the rear 12V. I know enough about wiring to only get myself into trouble. ? That's why I used the OBD cable as a power supply. Rick @Trigganometry might be able to help you out more. I'd hate to see Soupie catch fire listening to my electrical advise.?

With the Thinkware the rear cam plus into the front and I'm pretty sure they're all like that. It really is easy to run the rear cable (I had a lot extra coiled up) by just tucking it as you go. I like the parking mode because I have to park in the street when I do work at customers homes. Even though I park in the very back lot when shopping it's still good to have it. I always get someone with a truck looking like Sanford & Son who feels they need to park way back there next to me. ?‍♂

Sorry I'm late catching up on all of this but as you know @AzScorpion I've had other things going on.... ?

Dave, I'm glad youre okay and wish you luck with the new one!
Thanks Brett and I understand 100% what you're going through. Hopefully soon we'll both be back on the road with our Rangers!

Park crooked all you like. Well, that's no longer correct to say. Sorry about saying anything negative about your parking (everyone should learn from someone's karma here and the loss of their sable Ranger that may be related to their parking perspective and opinions of others). =p

The only thing that matters is what kind of parker you identify as. It's not my place to define that for you (despite tires being over lines and all of that). =D

I support you Tracy as a Straight Parker (I'm sure your day is now complete and your life fulfilled!). =D
