. Can you Lock it ?I like this one. I like the low profile, it's sturdy enough for what I've set on it. And I can sleep under it will enough. https://undercoverinfo.com/undercover-flex/2023/ford/ranger
Sort of, to open the cover you have to drop tailgate to access the cable assembly and pull it to release the locking tabs that hold it down.. Can you Lock it ?
I am in the market for something, been looking at a couple different options. Leaning towards getting one I can paint like this https://realtruck.com/p/undercover-elite-lx-tonneau-cover/v/ford/ranger/2023/ Only problem is most of the dealers don't have the Eruption Green paint, They do have Hot pepper red tho. but I am apparently going to have to get it unpainted and take it to Ford to paint.
Thanks for the reply ... good info to consider as I wade through the possibilitiesSort of, to open the cover you have to drop tailgate to access the cable assembly and pull it to release the locking tabs that hold it down.
So this creates a possible entry point for a crafty thief, all he has to do is get a coat hanger and fish it through (between the top of the tailgate and bottom of the cover) hook the cable and pull it, and it will open up.
Most of the folding covers are this way, so it is not anything specific to the Undercover brand.
The main drawback to folding covers is the how the cover works when fully folded to open, the last open will be raised and propped up - blocking rear window view and some models even rest against the cab-(Rubbing Issue), this feature alone is why I chose the Armor-Flex, it does not rest against the cab.
Now since I do not frequently have a need to have the full bed and have it fully up, it works for me.
If the window blocking is a issue, then you have the roll-up style that eliminates this issue, but you lose security of a hard cover and give up some bed space for it.
As, you see there are a lot of factors when choosing a simple cover, it just depends on your individual needs.

I'm not sure I would worry too much about a coat hanger. The frame of the panel is lower than the top of the tailgate so as soon as the hanger was past the tailgate top on the way in it would impact the panel frame and need to go under it, then turn back level to reach the wire. Could it be done, yes. But it would be way easier to unplug the tailgate under the trunk and use a 9V battery and a little wire to unlock the tailgate if it has the power lock. Heck, smart thieves could get a plug from the junkyard, or direct from Ford, and just make a tailgate unlocking plug. ....Humm, now I need to look at my wiring diagrams and see if it looks like I could back feed the power from the tailgate connection into the main harness to unlock all, or some of the doors on the truck, that would be scary.Sort of, to open the cover you have to drop tailgate to access the cable assembly and pull it to release the locking tabs that hold it down.

I'm with Val on this one for the same reasons. The Trifecta is a great looking cover. I've had mine for 4+ years, and it still looks good. Granted, I garage my Ranger. Are you looking for a folding soft cover or a folding hard cover? I have the folding soft Extang Trifecta 2.0 Signature Series. All I need a cover for was to keep things out of the weather and out of sight. Security wasn't really a top concern since I don't leave things in the truck when it's not in my sight. I don't leave things in overnight.
