the arm rests on my front doors were squeaking when any weight was put on them so i sprayed some silicone dry lubricant into the crack to hopefully stop the noise, and it worked but the overspray seems to have permenantly stained or ruined the finish on the plastic. any ways to try and resurface it or remove the discoloration without completely replacing the part?

Try plain old alcohol on a terry cloth rag. And keep ALL silicone away from your truck.....there is no need for it to be anywhere within 1/4 mile of your truck...
If you have some, Mothers Back To Black rubbed in with a Mr. Clean Majik Eraser may also work.
Goo Gone also is a go to...and none of these will harm your plastic/vinyl.
Use some 303 Protectant in the future to protect and lube any plastic/vinyl.

Silicone is great for rubber parts. Seals, weather stripping, ect.

Yes it is...IF you use it right. But get it on paint, glass, or plastic, has the OP found out, it is a PAIN IN THE ARSE to get off !!!!!
And if it sits for any length of time, NOTHING will ever stick to that area again.

You can also try SImple Green or similar cleaners as their usually listed as safe to use on plastic and vinyl. Way it looks now, that silicone has pernitrated the plastic, so any cleaner you use probably won't do any more damage.

I suppose, but accidents do happen. And there's glass products like driven acid gel to remove chemicals and stuff from glass.

Anyway, I would probably use rubbing alcohol and and cotton balls and just work in circular motions. Should get most of it out after a while. Or a rag, I personally use cotton balls for small areas.

Follow up with a gentle cleaner like Simple green, then apply a product like 303 or similar interior cleaner.

Yes mine still squeaks and my truck was built in 2015! I don't think so much it's the silicone but carrier solvent it is suspended in which does the damage.
I had a similar experience with a vinyl cleaner I used to clean up the same area after someone had an unfortunate episode of car sickness. After I cleaned it up it looked like that.

I used this https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/bowdens-own-bowdens-own-vinyl-care-500ml/323491.html#q=vinyl+cleaners&lang=en_AU&start=3
and it magically (and thankfully) restored it. I guess since this is a locally owned and made product here you probably can't access it over there, but I included this just to show that it might be recoverable if you can find the right product.
