I've always had good experiences with my GM vehicles at dealers.
Ford? First time I ever told a service writer to suck my ****. Ford dealerships are the worst.
That’s if they’re not an inbred engineer leading. What I mean is the top engineer only hires people they know aren’t as smart. Then each consecutive hire is less smart than the one before. I’ve seen that happen and it’s not pretty. Happy I wasn’t in that department..

Well there was a Sabre one, a Lariat demo with a few k miles on it when I bought my truck, but it didn't have the FX4 package so I went fro the black beast of AAAAAAAGGHHHH! instead...I have to admit Sabre is the best Ranger 5G color

Was it Car & Driver (can't remember) ? stated his rear occupant got sick riding in the back LoL. I can empathize cuz with the random vibrations goin on I can barley stand driving period. It's a truck and I expect truck like firmness but got intolerable on my long distance commutes. Especially now having lower neck pains. Really loved everything else about the Ranger and wanted to keep it forever but time has come to let her go for something more practical. Done with the non support from dealers and done getting tires balanced. No vehicle should have these problems from the factory floor. Glad not every Ranger has issues like mine did and I'm the minority but Ford needs to step it up to compete. Just my humble opinion

What models are they talking about? 2019 Ranger is much more reliable than my 2014 Jeep was. The Ranger is SOLID. Zero issues 4 years in.

Hi Dave,

Sad to hear...Once great company on the downslide...CEO position has always been a revolving door since HFII died...

Best,
Phil
Ford isn't alone.

It is "Caretaker Syndrome" in action. Most new CEOs replacing the company founders are not visionaries, developing new tech to obsolete their own products. Instead they hang on, milking products until competition beats them to the punch and they become irrelevant....permanently stuck behind the technology curve.

I came onboard IBM 10 years after Watson Jr had retired and witnessed the revolving door of CEO caretakers. None had any vision, and all focused on short term stock prices. IBM revenue peaked in the early 90's and has been steadily declining ever since. There have been momentary gains and pauses, but the long term trend is down. IBM has been selling off key assets for years, attempting to stave off the inevitable. I believe the only HW they manufacture now are mainframes. They have sold off all their vertical manufacturing, and are a shell of what they were.

The same thing is happening at Apple and Microsoft.

Well…. The “truck” I owned before my Lariat / Tremor was the supposedly high(est?) ranking midsize truck, the Honda Ridgeline. When my lawyers and I had Honda buy it back it had just over 2k mi on it. It leaked (rear window) the day I brought it home, not discovered until it’s first wash by me. This turned into the dealer having it over 50 days, and STILL it leaked.

So imagine my sickened feelings when I got my recall for front windshield on my Ranger now with just about the same number of miles on it. Needless to say I’m pissed. And yes my “new Ranger” does slightly leak! I’m SO dreading what mess / damage will be done to my 2,200mi Truck when Ford / dealer “tries” to fix this.

I’m amazed Honda, and apparently Ford can’t put a window in a brand new car correctly.

But hey, we’ve got Ranger owners with transmission issues, driveshaft issues, sensor issues, climate control issues and people thinking they have to install some “catch can” thing.

Every time I press the start button, put my truck in drive, or flip on the AC (or hope my windshield won’t fall out) I cross my fingers.

Thank you. Def gonna miss the truck & soundd like a big trade down. Satisfied tho wIth the replacement (22 mazda3 Select)as my needs changed and priorities are more about fuel mileage and comfort. Still gonna lurk on the forum here cuz it's a great community of members. BTW no dealer w I thin 100mi radius could beat Carvana offer. The appraiser was cool and hardly looked at truck. I took a big hit on sale price for having mods. He said if I lied on application and said truck was stock that he would have given top price for it. Also mentioned that you can still drive up to 1000mi after receiving initial online quote without affecting sale price.

And yet GM is trying to buyout salaried employees to cut costs. Time will tell but in the next two years I’ll be in the market to buy again and will be looking around at whose company is still stable and producing quality products. With several like dodge and all EV automatically ruled out.
Marra Barra's memo reads like "Take it or get fired next month". Gotta love the corporate speak from Bailout Motors:

"Accelerated attrition requires to be proactive regarding workforce planning. Therefore, today, we are announcing a voluntary program that offers the majority of our U.S. team an opportunity to leave GM and transition to what’s next with an attractive compensation and health care package. Taking this step now will help avoid the potential for involuntary actions."

This after they threatened their employees with a forced termination if you refused to take an unapproved untested medication.

They respect their employees that much!

I wanna work for them!
