Sounds painful. After retiring last summer and taking a part time job to keep myself busy and out of trouble?, I have no idea how uncle sugar is going to hit me.Gettin ready to take the wifee and the XLT to H&R Block to see how bad the Govt is gonna screw me over! Good luck. I hope you get a refund for a change.Sounds painful. After retiring last summer and taking a part time job to keep myself busy and out of trouble?, I have no idea how uncle sugar is going to hit me.
Not that I am on SS, but I think it's a crock that it is taxed.Good luck. I hope you get a refund for a change.
I pulled the plug in May 2022. We are living on our monthly pension checks & holding off on drawing SS. Good old Uncle has had his hand in our wallet for what seems like eternity and always wants more $$ on tax day. Hopefully this year we can beat him!
Me and my customer were just talking about this yesterday. How they get away with taxing you on it is crazy since it was a tax to begin with. Don't even get me started as I've paid double (being self employed) for 36 years too. Then I've had to match my employees FICA too.Not that I am on SS, but I think it's a crock that it is taxed.
My wife retired last year as a school teacher as well. Started her own business doing testing on students. So yeah, the self employed taxes are disgusting.Me and my customer were just talking about this yesterday. How they get away with taxing you on it is crazy since it was a tax to begin with. I agree 100%Not that I am on SS, but I think it's a crock that it is taxed.
It's even worse when have employees. Your business liability insurance is based off payroll so they usually hit you for more come spring from the audit. Same with workers comp insurance. Then people wonder why you have to charge the rates you do?My wife retired last year as a school teacher as well. Started her own business doing testing on students. The most terrifying quote. "I'm from government and I'm here to help".....It's even worse when have employees. Naww it's when you're at the Dr and he says "bend over this won't hurt". Even worse when you went for an eye exam! The most terrifying quote. "I'm from government and I'm here to help".....
We've had enough help from the federal gov't now, they can go back to their basements. The most terrifying quote. "I'm from government and I'm here to help".....
Yes some states don't tax it but it's still taxed federally everywhere.I believe no SS tax in Oregon?? Taxing it again would be double dipping. Greedy bastards.
Since we're in the weeds; Colorado has a tax on people who work, for the privilege of working. Its called the OPT tax.Me and my customer were just talking about this yesterday. Sounds like Robin Hood. Take from the rich (the workers) and give to the poor (the lazy)!Since we're in the weeds; Colorado has a tax on people who work, for the privilege of working. Its called the OPT tax.
