One thing that I like about the engine being in marine offerings is it shows that its a good motor. groups like Mercruiser, PCM, Indmar, Volvo and others have used big three engines as a start for making marine engines. They do not waste time or money on engines that are not up to snuff from the start. Some of the famous auto engines were marine motors. the c4 vette ZR1 that was so hip then for its high revving hot 350 v8 were Mercruiser. Gm had to limit the output and rpms so it didnt cook the gm bolt ons lol. So long story short from my nerdyness if the 2.3 stays in marine engine circles its really proving it has grit as a good quality engine. The not so great engines are either never looked at or they try them for a few years in cheap ass boats.

That cover looks identical to the CJ Pony Parts carbon fiber cover for the Mustang Eco boost.
Even looks like the stock Mustang cover.....Hmmmmmmm.......wonder if the Mustang cover would fit the Ranger ???????

It would be sweet if it did fit. Even with a little modification.

Don't know about the cover as it has different holes for dipstick and filler....
BUT...
Is there any reason why this stuff from Blue Oval wouldn't fit the Ranger 2.3 ???
It's for a 2018-2021 Ford Mustang with the 2.3 thru 5.0. Lists for $157, 5 piece set.
When I had my Mustang GT I got a lot of stuff from Blue Oval and other on-line'ers. Good quality billet aluminum.
Any reason this wouldn't fit our Rangers for a little "Bling" ?

it does look better than the ford oem for the ranger. the stock one reminds me of public institution lunch trays lol.
You are almost convincing me to actually paint my cover correctly. "Public institution lunch tray" perfectly describes my abomination of a paint job on the cover. I think that's what is going through every mechanic's mind that pops my hood open. Enjoy the laugh  :turkey:

I don't see any way that these interchange. Maybe someone will come out with a carbon fiber one for the Ranger.

Doe this fit the same hardware used on our cover?
Doesn't look like it from this pic. A screw and different stud in what looks like a different location.

David,

Thanks for the link.
I placed an order and I'll post back to let everyone know if this will fit our Ranger's.
Looks like it may take more than two weeks to arrive.
So hang on we will have an answer on fitment.
That's really generous of you to share with us. It's certainly a "fuller" looking cover. The stock one seems so small.

Good luck and I can't wait to hear what you discover! =)

What's even funnier is the newspaper. Might as well just sprayed it right in the dirt and gave it a textured look. lol
