I have mine in a 2020 and the plug tightened down with no play. Very sturdy. Go ahead and torque it down.

Doesn’t the power to this turn off after a certain amount of time? Do you have to run a dedicated battery line for full time power to the bed?

Yes factory has it turn off after a timed cycle. You can change that with Forscan though. Just be mindful of battery capacity when doing the change. It could leave you stranded

Another reason to carry one of those jump pack batteries... They are everywhere these days - I got one that is big enough to jump start a large diesel truck, because you just never know...

And, bigger is better.

Mine went off after about 20 minutes, so used forscan to up that to 60, changed the battery SOC to 90% from 75%, also added another gasket to it so it would tighten down tight. I got the power plug and then added a pigtail behind it for the bed lights.

Absolutely..... If you're gonna do anything more than basic device charging or tool battery charging. Remember, it's just a 20 amp circuit (the fuse lives next to the two interior cig lighter fuses) and I believe the wiring is under rated. Personally, I treat it as if it were a 10 amp circuit.

I also have the wolf haus pigtail adapter and its a great piece of kit. I have the open end connected to a little terminal strip that I use for ignition power in the bed. I need switched ignition power for my ARB compressor and the Redarc BCDC1240D DC to DC battery charger.

I bring the real power front to back over a pair of 4 AWG cables run under the truck. I have 200 AmpHours of lithium that I use for all my Aux needs. I gotta say... That Redarc charger is amazing!

I was down with a bad flu for 10 days. My Dometic fridge barely dented my battery capacity. I thought I'd return to melted butter all over the bottom of the fridge, but nope... all good.

In this pic, the Redarc BCDC1240 is the black box above the compressor. Just under, is the terminal strip powered by the Wolf Haus pigtail. just to the right are the two 4 AWG cables that come under the truck from the front and attach to terminal blocks and a breaker inside the gray weather tight box. to the right are 2 100 AHr batteries in parallel with the inverter strapped to the top. (I just removed the inverter for the winter) Yesterday, I installed a Victron Smartshunt IP65 in to one of the battery boxes for more reliable monitoring. It's far better than the battery's internal Bluetooth nonsense.
I cut the cig lighter plug off my fridge cable and replaced it with a 45amp Anderson connector that plugs in to the system to the left of the BCDC1240. (out of frame) I've standardized on the little Anderson plugs cuz they're just a better more reliable plug than cig lighter style plugs. You can also fit more of them into a given space.

4AWG cable run
This is the thread for that project

Do you remember what the timer options are in ForScan ? Mine shuts off after 60 minutes but I'd like to run my lipo battery charger longer without having to crank the truck if possible .

I went the DIY route and came up with this kit for a little under 40 bucks.

I used the BCM module to change it, Disabled Power Point Feature.

Hex change, 726-39-01 setting XXXX X1XX XXXX, changed 1 to 0.

You can set the time in seconds, or change the hex '1' to '0' to keep them on all of the time until the battery saver shuts them off (not recommended)

Thanks a bunch. I'll have to check that when I'm off work this week sometime . I was hoping there was something in ForScan then happened across your post today .

Very nicely done!
How did you get the harness kit to fit into the MOLLE panel? Did you have to disassemble the housing? Thanks!
