You'll get one of your wishes. IIRC they are putting the dual injection in the 2.3 for the 6G. I really don't think there's a very high demand for a manual so I doubt you'll see that. Even in the Bronco I think it was something like 75% ordered the auto over the stick.
I'd go manual over automatic in a heartbeat. More reliable, and more fun - unless stuck in traffic.

OK, if I read this right - - - The current Ranger is a 9 year old design from down under and Ford plans on continuing to use the same platform into the next decade. So, no matter which or when you buy, you best be into antiques.
Not quite, the first bit is true, but the frame has been re-designed and improved further for the T6 model - don't forget we already have that one here. The changes are evolutionary rather than revolutionary but obvious if you look closely.
I'm pretty happy with the platform it rides well, tows well and does most things better than the 1 tonne opposition if Ford can just fix their niggling quality issues it will continue to sell well.

I still think their assholes are locked up trying to figure out how to avoid cannibalizing so much as a single F150 sale in this market.

Gonna be interesting.
Easy answer is return the Ranger to the fold by calling it the F100 Ranger. Old is new again.
Most sold truck claim is really the whole F series. F150 by itself didn't make it many production years.

That's actually quite a good idea. Maybe the Maverick could be the F50 :)

Ranchero. I owned a Maverick/Comet and it had a trunk.

You sure that wasn't an elephant? I spent most of that era very, very confused. ;)
As did I. Being intoxicated on multiple chemical compounds will do that

Came across this thread as I did a search for F-100. Just had a thought this morning that when Ford decided a couple years ago to bring back the Ranger in a larger size, they could have branded it the F-100. F-100 went away in the eighties. The new Ranger is pretty close in specs to the old F-100 except faster and much more powerful among other things. Easily a half ton by any definition.

This platform was old when Ford decided to bring it to the US market.
A bit more than a 'couple' of years.
In a previous thread I suggested they should do the F100 with the 2024 update. so as not to dilute the F series sales.
