Ah, yes - That gap.. Yeah, as you know, I used to have the factory black plastic air dam going across there, but it's now in the attic accompanying a growing pile of other discarded Ranger oddities. The newer Rangers have a continuous lower bumper that dovetails (more or less) directly into the lower skid plate, which is rather nice.

Dave - Lolz! - Once I squeeze the Coopers on there, I don't think I'll be able to slide a credit card in that gap.

Doesn’t look like an AT3 ….?

Thanks for the shout out Dave!

”drag queen tuck” - hilarious!

Oh Wayne, there’s also a free t-shirt for this mod - you might need a bigger closet.

Oh snap son! I'm gunna have to like try this for sure. Supa clean cut lydat looks factory. Fuga mean Bra. - Not sure if my hand is steady enough for such a precise trim job, but I'll either fix it or make so nobody can.

Thanks Dave for the tip and Duke for the step by step post. Looking forward to carving up my air dam this weekend.

  That is one of my mottos. I can fix it or fix it so it can't be fixed. Unfortunately I have done the latter on a few occasions.

Love the do it your self tips. Those $9 rattle cans can do some good things.

I have the Lariat in Chrome. Anyone know the best Chrome spray (durability mostly)? I am going to do my diff cover to match the bumpers!

Mike - I really like "Chemical Guys" stuff. I've tried several different products, but it all seems the same. A work associate tip't me off to Chemical Guys (CG). You can find their products on Amazon or Walmart. Here where we live, they have a shop about 6 miles away, so I drove there. The CG guys asked what kind of problem I was dealing with and walked out to look at my wife's Honda CRV with window spots and paint stains due to the red mud.. He then came out with a cart having their products and began working on the issues. 5 minutes later, the areas looked Show Room.- I then drove home and brought back my Black Lariat, which had bad water spots across the hood and chrome that lacked any luster.. Again, he came out with a few different products and *Shazam!*, he had it looking like the day it rolled off the lot..

Needless to say, I left there buying one of their car detailing kits that included a variable speed orbital polisher and I have not been disappointed. You can also find them all over YouTube shlep'n their wears with "How To' videos, that I would highly recommend.

Hope this helps!

Nearly forgot about this easy mod. I found this item to be a real life saver. No PITA removal of the skid plate, and if you purchase a 2' section of clear vinyl tubing, you can plumb it down through the frame to a location that makes for easier access. I added a plug to the end of mine, so it won't drip any residue from the tube after a change. My set up ran about $40 as shown and it works like a champ. It cuts rolling around on the cold concrete floor to just mere minutes, and for me, that's huge. I no longer feel like I've been shoved down a flight of stairs the next day..

On a side note; I've not really considered adapting an oil filter relocation kit to my Ranger. At one time, I did add one of these on my earlier model Dodge Dakota POS Edition, but had to add longer hoses to place it in a more convenient location. I was always concerned about the added hose and distance, if that in any way may have affected my oil flow or pressure, but it did make for a much more convenient filter change.

EZ-107(12mm-1.75) EZ Oil Drain Valve with removable L-Shape Hose End Combo: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JBR9NAQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
