So there is a sensor on the fan clutch that runs between the pulleys and the radiator fan. It is attached to a roughly 3/4 inch wide radiator hose going from the fan assembly to what looks like a steel nub going nowhere on the accessory cover.
It LOOKS LIKE the tube is nothing but a way to suspend the sensor wire away from the pulleys and the fan. A few months back, the motor side tore. I put it back together with zip ties, and all seemed well.
I was filling my wiper fluid when I noticed the tube was complete disconnected from both ends. I temporarily zip tied it off to a PCV line to keep it away from the pulleys and fan. I’m going to get a length of hose to replace it this week.
Does this tube serve anything more than being a way to secure the wire?
