No good deed my friend, no good deed. (goes unpunished. - as they say)

May you cross paths with another that shows there is still good in the world and they return the favor to you.

Thanks! I know that there are plenty of good people out there, just like here on this forum! It is the not so nice ones that seem to make you wonder about people in general these days. I will keep looking.... :fingerscrossed:

The Harley guys were certianly something else back when I rode a lot . I had a Yamaha Star that I painted as an American flag and the Harley folks always gave me crap about it. Very rude crap. More than once I was asked why I had a POS metric bike painted as an American flag . Because I'm a F'ing American was my reply.
Most didn't know that I had a decked out Fatboy painted the exact same way but the local Harley club always tried to get me to ride with them , as long as I was on the Harley . I turned them down everytime if I couldn't ride on my Yamaha . They would always scoff at me at bike nights because when I rode the Harley I would wear the Yamaha shirts and when on the Star I would be wearing HD , lol.

Which one leaked more oil? ?

When my wife and I were dating, I had a Honda Magna V45. Basically a cruiser bike with the 750 Interceptor V4 engine.

Looked just like this.

I drove it up to see her one day and of course her brother started giving me some good-natured ribbing about my rice mobile.

Then he mentioned all the high performance parts on his Harley and said it would outrun mine.

My future wife said, and this is one of many instances when I knew she was a keeper, "Well, maybe yours could outrun his if it ever actually ran at all"

He told me that if I ever got another Jeep, that I would be welcome to join up with them on their drives! I guess this "Jeeple" person is not welcome to drive with them, in one of them "Ranger Tremor" trucks!!! After all my trying to be kind and helpful to another fellow off road enthusiast, I am not worthy of driving with them.
Allow me to translate that from Jeepinese into Fordish.

Phil the Great and Wise, we tremble in your presence and are not worthy of your company. Should you ever loose your regal stature in society we will gladly take you back in our lowly tribe for we are not worthy of your presence until then.

Actually had only one small oil leak on the HD but it was due to an aftermarket chrome line set . Sold both after we put 20k on each and regretted it ever since . Loved both of those bikes . Being in the business I was in I've had a long list of bikes ranging from cruisers , touring and race . The wife and I started on a Yamaha NightHawk 650 back in "82 . It was very similar to your Honda in the picture . Just sold my last bike back in 2021 since the wife has had some health issues and can't ride anymore . It's just not the same without her on the back .

To kinda get back on subject , it's not just Jeep or Harley folks that have those sorts of attitudes . I remember getting into the RC hobby and I learned on helicopters first so the old airplane guys at the flying fields never wanted anything to do with us heli guys ! Heck this coming weekend is Alabama Vs Auburn so I'm limited to whos house I can visit this time of year , LOL .

Not all Jeep owners are like that. I had a pretty positive experience last year. Posted about it in the offroad thread:
https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/post-your-off-road-pics.3158/page-59#post-318551
Most aren't, but when you run into the one that is it seems more memorable ?

When I had my Wrangler there were some who had a Rubicon clique that if your Jeep wasn't a Rubicon it just wasn't a real Jeep.

Then you go on a Jeep trail ride and they're the ones holding up the line because they don't know how to use their Jeep.

it is silly how folks take a brand loyalty thing too extreme . same with sports teams too. im cool with most brands.
It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand ?

I think I'm going to subvert the whole "ducking" thing for Ford Rangers but use a platypus instead if I can find some small plastic ones.

Platypus is cooler anyway.

He's a semi-aquatic, egg laying mammal of action!

thinking back i got snubbed driving a jeep by other jeep drivers. i had a yj - square headlights. it wasnt "a jeep" without round headlights... im not anti jeep but for what they cost vs quality and reliability - they can count me out.

One thing I will say that i just love about the "Harley" individuals out there is they are all about American made!! And yet most likely own a Japanese car or truck!!
