in April 2021 choices were very limited....APG was the only company making a UCA for the steel spindles.. Billet with uni-ball and adjustable Heim joint ends..bushings are solid milled no grease needed...the no deflection construction does allow more "road feel" to be transferred into the chassis , but better steering response...as for maintenance I just occasionally clean exterior with brass brush and give them a squirt of WD- DryLube....I have never experienced any squeaks..

Those are serviceable too. The joint is replaceable which is cool. Alot of people like icons, except one guy on here says they are garbage. I forget who he is but he really dislikes them.
I have seen that there’s more than a few people on here that do not care for them because of the squeak, but that’s why I am asking for clarity to better understand what the Hecks going on with the Icon’s.

Zerk fittings are a piece of cake to install yourself
If you got the skills to install a lift on your own, you can put in some grease fittings with your eyes closed.
I was thinking about that and I agree they are easy to install, but you Gotta make sure you have a grease Galley or channel that goes through the bushing into all the parts that need grease.

Avoid the Icon UCAs. Mine fouled the shock towers on the first Ranger, damaging both components and limiting down travel.

No such problems with OME on the new build. 12k miles in and no squeaks. Gonna loosen and lube them before end of year.

Assuming you did not go past 2.5 inches of front lift you already have the best on your truck. The OEM do just fine on the ranger. When i had my 2019 with tye Old Man EMU lift(thats right, not a leveling kit) I left the Factory control arms tyere and it was just fine. I even contacted ARB about it and they told.me that there was no need for it at that amount of lift because the alignment is able to go back into specifications. Also never had a problem what so ever with ride both On and OffRoad.

Something new?...As far as I know ARB
Old Man Emu only made UCA's that fit the aluminum spindles, not compatible for use on the steel spindle years..

Aluminum spindles were 2019 and half of 2020. Everything since then has been steel. These day’s the majority of purchases are for steel spindles as there are far more of them now. Eventually the aluminum ones will be harder to find.

A little more info about the ICON UCA's ....wheel size and back spacing are critical to proper performance of the ICON's if a larger than stock (265)
width tire is going to be used.....must have 4.75 backspace for a coilover with stock travel, and 8.5" wheel with 6" of backspace for the extended travel 2.5 coilovers.. and they recommend caster to set in the upper range of spec( 3+ ). Failure to follow their guidelines can cause binding and component failure...
