I hit a hen pheasant with my '89 Ranger doing 65mph. Hit the headlight, hood, and the corner of the fender... BIG poof of feathers !!! Only damage was a little scratch, from the beak I assume. If I hit one with the new Ranger, it would be $1-2K to fix...

It’s rare but big birds can do significant damage. I lost a light of my BMW to some kind of sea bird. Naughty words, yes.

I hit a turkey with mine the second week I owned it. Put a crease in the leading edge of the hood.
May not have damaged anything if I'd had the bug deflector but it hadn't arrived yet.
Paintless dent guy fixed it no problem.

I was driving down the Interstate this morning and a huge bird (hawk, falcon, ???) flew up and hit my front passenger fender just behind the headlight. First dent, and it's a nice one. Rattled off a few naughty words as it happened. My deductible for Comprehensive is $500.

It's just plastic can you not just push it back out those fenders are cheap ass plastic which pisses me off, they got steel and aluminium on the body then these friggin plastic fenders.... Whatever though,too much is wrong with every vehicle they're all built like garbage

Absolutely they are correct. I’m kinda surprised they body worked it for you, even though they didn’t have far to go. Alum body work requires a dedicated and socialized set of body tools and new techniques. No cross use with body tools used on steel on account of steel particles being embedded into the alum.

Almost no other benifits to alum body panels except weight savings and some small dent resistance.

I knew about the problems of cross contamination with carbon steel and stainless steel, didn't know that was a problem with aluminum. Good to know for future references.

Its satire. The founder started this a poke in the nose to flat earthers and other fill-in-the-blank deniers. I think it was 60 Minutes who did a piece on this org. Its hilarious.

Update: Met with our local auto body shop (been around since 1987 and super well known and well liked in the community). Due to the factory bend line, paint-less dent repair will not work for the aluminum fender. $1,500 - $2,000 to repair. No big deal as I was going to have to pay my $500 deductible regardless of the type of repair. They are under five miles from my house and have free loaner cars. Owner told me he would submit pictures to insurance instead of me using the insurance app, because his pictures and description will tell the story much better than my pictures - especially with white paint and the fact that it's hard to see the dent with the color and lighting.

It's not a plastic fender, it's aluminum.

Mine i bought in Canada is a21 xlt and they're sure as fuck plastic front fenders, also anywhere i read states only the hood and tailgate are aluminium mine are plastic from factory
