I'd talk to @M SPEC first...he traded his Maverick for a Ranger because it was uncomfortable...
That's just me...Of the 7 cars/trucks I own three are Fords. 2017 Expedition EL (my road warrior) and a 2018 Escape and now of course my 2021 Ranger Tremor. My Exp and Escape I LOVE LOVE LOVE. I bought the Mav FX4 Lariat with hopes I would feel the same...NOPE. I liked the size,
handling and performance ALOT. I just could not make the interior work for me. I found the seats HOT and not angled well (to my liking anyway). I did't like the view out the front, it was if the hood was to too high or something. Hard for me to explain but again I never had that "AHHH" this is nice feeling. Would I prefer the size of the Mav over my Ranger...maybe, but I most certainly like the way I feel inside the Ranger WAY more than the Maverick, plus the fact that the Ranger is a far more capable truck. I have a couple of small camper trailers and now I can tow either one with either the Exp or Ranger. I will say this, if you are comfortable with how the interior works for you then I think the Mav is a great little truck, but I didn't want to pay money for something that didn't feel GREAT as do my Exp and Escape....and now my Ranger.

This. I'm sick of everything keep getting bigger.
While I do like the size of the ranger, I think it's too large.
This... My 2001 Cummins (quad cab w/ 8ft bed) wasn't much bigger than my Ranger, which was mostly just length, and I thought that was a pain to drive around, daily. I am actually looking at picking up another car just for around town... Something small and fun.

That said, my daughter will be driving very soon and the plan has been to hand down my wife's car and I ordered my wife a hybrid Maverick. We'll see if we get it, or how long it will take. I think the size is much better for most of my wife's driving and should be pretty versatile for her. And the MPG's are welcome.

I actually look forward to the Maverick coming in. I got the Ranger because I still need to tow 5-6k lbs, and needed to replace my CRD Jeep Grand Cherokee (which I've piled miles on and has been fantastic for 231k miles and I tow fairly regularly with it and used it to tow the Ranger home). If I didn't need to do that, I could be happy in a Maverick. I have zero desire to go off-roading in my Ranger, I have RZR's, which are just significantly better and faster.

I work at a ford dealership. When I walk through the showroom I glance at the sales board to see what's selling. They opened the order bank for mavericks an they had a few listed every day. Then nothing. They closed orders after 4 or 5 days. I didn't see a single sale on the board on 3 days this week. They have a nice used XLT Maverick, it looks loaded an they have over 35K on the window sign. That sounds 5K over new price.

We take care of her parents, I have red truck, they have white SUV and she now has a blue truck. So we’re now red, white and blue!!! The color picked itself ?

Well we took a 50 mile trip through mountains, freeway and surface streets. It’s really quiet and comfortable. The adaptive cruise control will come to a complete stop and then go when traffic starts moving again. Creepy as hell, also it almost steers itself on well marked roads. Pretty close to self driving. Can barely feel when the engine kicks on. Averaged a little over 43mpg per the truck. It’s a winner in my books!!!

I do think it's a niche that needed to be filled.
A lot of families will love that they have a family car that can do most HomeDepot stuff.
The Ridgeline was/is perfect for many, but starting at $38,000?
So, the Maverick has the edge.

More pics, please....and more info about your experience with the Maverick as you have opportunity to drive it and share how things really are with it.
Beautiful color. Nicely done.
