overall im not impressed with the maverick. I get that it fills a spot in the market and makes sense for some people. im seeing more of them around town lately. if the mavericks were selling under the msrp as was normal before the world went crazy i think i could see more value in them and give them a fair look. but with them costing as much or in some cases more than a nicely optioned ranger or f150 im not a fan.

I do think they are good for people that don’t want such a large truck. They are very nice.
My Ranger seems huge to me, until I park next to most newer full sized trucks. Then it looks so little, but perfect for me & what I need it for. :)
This. I'm sick of everything keep getting bigger.
While I do like the size of the ranger, I think it's too large.

The maverick could easily zip around parking lots around here willy nilly while I have to angle the ranger or back it in still, not too much unlike my previous F150.

exactly! they are priced out of the niche they were supposed to fill currently.

I kept my Ranger and took delivery of the Maverick. It’s exceeded my expectations!!!

More pics, please....and more info about your experience with the Maverick as you have opportunity to drive it and share how things really are with it.
Beautiful color. Nicely done.

Well for starters it’s my wife’s but I do the weekend driving for us. I drove it last night and it really handles well. It’s a Lariat hybrid and my first experience driving a hybrid so it felt odd, not bad by any means. It may be smaller than the Ranger but the cabin space is a little larger. More to come but I think it will be a winner so far.

I think Mavericks are perfect for most people on the forum complaining about the Ranger’s mpg.
OP- your Maverick looks great! I see them zipping around here, and I still want my gf to get one ? that way I can drive it around without owning one. It would not fulfill my needs.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I’m nearing the ninth month of waiting for my maverick. When it finally gets here. I’ll probably trade the bronco sport in for it. That’ll tow much easier behind the motor home. It will look strange with two cyber orange trucks in the driveway!
Late comment but.... You must tow the Sport on a dolly or trailer as its not flat towable, is the mav flat towable?

I own a Ranger XLT 4x4 Sport. Iv'e added AMP auto steps and love them. I also own a 2005 Ranger XLT Edge 4x4. Both have towing packages. The new Ranger is much easier to enter and exit with the steps.

When I first saw the Maverick I was impressed and sent a note to my daughter as she was looking to replace a well worn Corolla. After waiting 6 months her Maverick XL Hybrid came in. She has had it for about a year now, and recently stopped by for a visit, and I had the opportunity to test drive it.

The Maverick exterior design looks nice in person. The interior is full of hard plastic and the seats are not as comfortable as the 2020 Rangers. I liked to interior colors of the XL over the XLT that I had set in at a dealer months earlier. The XLT interior with the faux marble look and bright orange accents is certainly not aimed at my generation! If I could get an XLT with the interior of an XL I'd jump at it. I have not seen the Lariat, but the price point / value seems too steep for me.

Driving the hybrid takes a little getting used to. But it seemed well designed and with 40+ mpg in city driving, it is difficult to argue with the results. If you are not towing anything it will work for you. When it Kicks over to all electric there is a distinctive whine of a "golf cart motor". Not annoying but there. Braking is much different... very sensitive to the touch... esp when regenerating to the battery, If will throw you forward very quickly until you adapt to it.

The view out the windshield is quite different from the Ranger. The Maverick sits lower, and your seat is lower as well. You ends up looking out over a very large, wide flat hood. The truck feels wider than the Ranger, and my daughter has complained about the difficulty in parking it in her narrow garage.

The interior space feels to be slightly bigger than the Rangers, but I have a SuperCab. Bed is easier to access, and I would consider one to replace my aging 2003 Maxima as a get around town vehicle. It would not replace either of my Rangers.

BUT only the XL or Lariat versions. I hate the standard XLT interior that much. The Ford Black Appearance option interior looks nice and complements the Cvber Orange well enough!

Priced out at just under $29K before taxes and license fees - not far from my Ranger's price.

You can't even dolly tow the AWD sport. The hybrid Maverick can be flat towed. Not the AWD Maverick.

Ok not my idea, ordered a Maverick hybrid lariat loaded, it was supposed to be my wife’s truck. She’s fallen out of love with it since we ordered last September. It’s now built and in shipping.

She asked if I want to trade my 2021 Ranger Lariat FX4, Rapid Red with black appearance package.. My first thought is hell no.

We’re aged people and off-road really hurt’s her back from multiple spinal fusion surgery’s . I know I don’t want to do It but just tossing it out there. I’m just trying wrap my head around the idea… she’s wanting to keep her Hyundai 2017 Santa Fe sport AWD instead… IDK..
I'd talk to @M SPEC first...he traded his Maverick for a Ranger because it was uncomfortable...
