The only person that I am aware that has this corrected had hos transfer case replaced and the vibration went away. It is NOT the tire and wheels. It is not a level kit. It is not the wheel spacers. It's not the alignment. There is something else that's causing it. Everybody jumps on with their thoughts which are usually tires? Wheels? Wheel spacers? Driveshaft? Etc.... these are things that I have been though numerous times. Some make a difference. Then it returns.

I too avoid highway driving. Everywhere else I love this truck. Smooth pavement is painful. Fortunately we don't have much of that here in MI. ;(

I also spoke with Tim Woods and Adam's Driveshafts. They have moderate success with solid shaft replacements, but not all worked. They also won't make one for the Tremor version.
I'm originally from Michigan so I definitely know about the roads lol

When you feel the vibration is it in the steering wheel or the seat that you feel it?
I barely feel it in the driver seat, mostly in the pass seat side of truck towards rear, front feels pretty good. Very slight in the steering wheel. It's really weird, I would have bet a 100 bucks that it was the passenger side rear tire that was out of balance when this all started, which it started from the day I bought it on the ride home, dealer was 90min away or I would have took it back the next day but I figured it's just a tire out of balance so it wasn't a big deal to me at first.

Just for kicks it might be worth having the dealer do the alignment(or at least check it). Only a hunch but i wonder if something might be out of spec in a small way? Also with the tires, were they roadforce ballanced? That is a great way to find an imbalance in a wheel and tire.

Not sure on the road balance thing, I've never heard of that. I just had the shop that mounted and balanced the tires/wheels rebalance the rear pass side twice, then I moved the rear tires to the front and had the same issue, then I tried removing the rings and that made things worse, so then took truck back to shop and had them rebalance all 4 by their best guy and still no fix, so I took the truck to a big name shop here and had them rebalance all 4 and still no fix so they told me go grab the stock wheels and see what happens and it still didn't fix the issue, so the manager was telling me they had an issue similar with a new Chevy Colorado and it wound up being something in the Trans, so he said take it to the dealer and let them try figuring it out....so that's where I'm at with this problem, going in Monday at 8a.m.

Yeah...I'd push on the trans thing too...I've tried everything and nothing fixes it....I've had tires balanced and alignments that seemed to fix it only for it to return days or hours later...I can drive it and it's fine...park to get a drink at the gas station, pull out and it's back...it's truly weird. I've had mine aligned multiple times too.

Only issues with 4x4s? Just trying to find common denominators.

The dealership pushed my service appointment to the 14th so I'll update this when it gets in.

Have the dealers checked for axle flange run out? I've seen a slightly tweaked rear axle cause vibration felt and seen in shaking seats before. Amazing what a good curb hop at the mall will do to an axle shaft.

Hadn't thought of that. Any ideas how to diy it? Dealer can't look at my truck until Oct 14....

On a side note.... mine is NOT the rear drive shaft...took it out and drove it last night... same vibrations...

I think the important thing is this statement, "I've had tires balanced and alignments that seemed to fix it only for it to return days or hours later".

I feel as though this is a huge clue but I'm just not mechanical enough to know. My first thought would be it has something to do with the adjustments of the wheels/tires if an alignment fixes it for a short time.

You would need a dial indicator and magnetic mount.

Now if they rebalance wheels and it fixes it for a few miles and returns, are they cleaning the wheel where they put stick on weights? They will fall of after a drive cycle if they aren't cleaning the wheels well before sticking them on. I only bring that up based on what op quoted above me.

Thanks. I've got a dial indicator and mag mount. Doesn't hurt to check I guess.

...and, yes. The tires were just rebalanced like hundreds of miles ago and it was because weights fell off. It really pisses me off when the basic shit is ignored....I swear, one day I'm just going to buy my own hunter roadforce for the number of times I've had to re-balance my tires...

Runout fine. Gotta get this solved. It's now pretty bad, with the whole truck shaking and its now audible with a very low resonating drone too...I wish something would just break and make this obvious. I've got a 600 mile trip this weekend with the teardrop... should be fun!

My steering wheel and truck started having the same issue after getting a rebalance, I’ve tried Extra Thread lug nuts, realignments, different sets of tires, reducing psi in my tires and finally hub rings for my aftermarket rims.
The biggest success was with the installation of the hub rings but the vibration and shaking returns. I believe (my situation) is that possibly a sticky wheel weight came flying off of my rim and the damages are causing this. I have photos of the hub and brake disk damage but I’m not sure if the visual damage is the cause or if the brake caliper is damaged and isn’t visible.
The Ford dealership has a machine that can diagnose where the vibration is caused such as the tires, rims or suspension etc. I will take it to them after thanksgiving but since the rims are aftermarket they said they would need to charge me for it but give me a discount.
I’m adding my photos of the damaged areas in case something jumps out to anyone who is mechanically savvy and can give me an answer on how to proceed and save me a trip to the dealership. Happy Thanksgiving to you all and I’m hoping to find a solution for me and others who have the same problem.
The detailed thread is on my page, my tuck was fine with the lift and the new rims and it was only after the rebalance when the issues began.

Retired from Honda Racing.
Those marks looks like when the wheel is allowed to drop on the rotor, if so, the wheel should have matching marks.
