So I currently have a 2023 Lariat Tremor with 500A on order. I'm beginning to have second thoughts because of the uncertainty of getting the LED headlights and fog lights. It's pretty much the only reason I ordered the Lariat. And I would hate to have to walk away and start a whole new order. I'm considering dropping my order to an XLT Tremor with 302A. It would save me $1500 which would probably end up being the cost to upgrade to LED headlights after the fact. Not really interested in any of the aftermarket LED headlights. And I would probably go Diode Dynamics for the fogs.

So outside of leather seats, push button start and power folding mirrors, is there anything major I would be losing by dropping to the XLT with the 302A?? I know there are some smaller changes like ambient lighting and body colored exterior bits. But it seems like most everything else standard on the Lariat 500A is included in the XLT 302A

Did any of you regret going with an XLT over a Lariat???

I have the XLT with 302A package. I am very pleased with my truck. It has the power folding mirrors with blind spot. I couldn't justify the extra money for just a few creature comfort items on the Lariat, although there weren't many to be found when I bought my truck.

Your XLT 302A has power folding mirrors?? As in your push the button on the dash and the whole mirror folds in???

Zero regrets.

I was looking for a particular set of options and I had my choice narrowed to a Lariat and the XLT I bought.

Since I don't care for leather or pushbutton start and I'm one of those who just don't like the Lariat gauge cluster, I went with the XLT 302A.

Yes.

I believe this is something that Ford has removed over time.

I ordered and waited 3 mos for my XLT pckg 302A. It had everything I wanted. Dual zone climate, heated seats, pwr fold mirrors and so on. Probably the main reason I didn't do the lariat was I did not want leather, hated the instrument cluster and wasn't real fond of the grill. No regrets.

My 2020 XLT has the power folding mirrors. Not sure if it still available with an XLT 302A.

No offense to Lariat owners, but I like the look of the XL/XLT grill better.

My 2019 XLT w/302A has this.

Zero regrets.

Yeah, I definitely don't like push button start (I use it for a work truck and hate it) and have no interest in leather seats. Only thing I wish I had from the Lariat were LED headlights, but there are alternatives if you have an XLT.

At first I don't think I would have cared about the instrument cluster either way, but I think now, I'm glad to have the XLT cluster.

Heated seats were also a priority for me, and glad to have them.

When I was shopping, I found an XLT w/302A on the lot, and while it has a few extras I didn't think I cared about, I'm glad for most of them. Would have preferred magnetic trim instead of chrome, but I like the truck a lot otherwise.

Not a fan of leather but the push button start is really nice. Though not a deal breaker. That kind of sucks they don't include the power folding mirrors with the 302A anymore. Again not a deal breaker as I don't street park. But not surprising. They have to upsell somehow.

And I agree about the gauge cluster. One big reason I didn't go with the 501A.

I have an XLT 301A 302A and the only two things I wished I had from the Lariat were the headlights and the push button start. I mean, come on, my Fiesta ST had push button start.

edit: I was wrong, mine is a 302A

Comparing the 2020 vs 2023 ordering guides, it looks like the power-folding mirrors have been relegated to the Lariat only. My 2020 302A also has power folding mirrors.

edit:
For 2019 and 2020, I'd say the XLT High/302A was the way to go. Now with so many options removed or pushed to the Lariat only... it's a tougher choice. I really don't care for leather seats, so I didn't want a Lariat to begin with. Mine has heated cloth which is perfect for Kansas. Not too hot in the summer but stays toasty in the winter. The halogen headlamps suck, which is why so many have swapped for the Lariat ones or aftermarket. Sticking an LED lamp into the halogen reflector housings just blinds everyone you approach and doesn't give great illumination.

Well, I guess if you cross off everything like you did, you have an XLT.
the leather in the Tremor will be mostly “miko suede”, not the hot/sweaty or cold/hard leather most people try to avoid.

Although I have the Lariat Tremor, I still contend the XLT is the sweet spot in terms of features and price. I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

My2020 has leather, power folding mirrors, no heated seats(not needed in this climate). Cooled seats would be nice though. I am unsure of my package number as it is a 2wd FX4. Yes appearance mall crawler.?? But I like still having a key. When needed I can just open door and reach in and start without pressing brake pedal.

I was looking at both when I was shopping around. Went with an XLT 301A package 4X4 without the locker. Sport w/black package.

I wanted LED headlights but once seeing how much more it was to get them and a bunch of stuff I had no need for I decided against the Lariat. Even if I went with the most expensive aftermarket LED headlights I would still be way ahead.

You need a key for that? And you have to open your door AND reach in? I just use the remote start.
