Love my truck. I have noticed some things I'm disappointed in.
Lariat sport 4x2 Super Cab
Found some dirt in the paint. Don't want dealer messing with it so I'll live with it.

No auto up and down on passenger window.

No powersliding rear window.

Horrible bouncy ride. Put Bilstein 5100 on, wow what a difference! Rides like i expected from the factory. Shouldn't have to spend $300 on rear shocks to make it ride like it should have.

Otherwise it's a great truck.
I've added
Bed Rug full liner.
Leer hf350m bed cover.
Ford Ranger letters for the taiIgate

Mark,
I was disappointed in this too, but no auto up and down on passenger window is standard on all Rangers.

Fords always rode like crap cause their crap shocks, and the "it's a truck excuse" is over played by fanboys. Lariat and xl have the same shocks which is laughable.

Try not to look too closely, there's quite a bit of eye brow-raising oddities with these otherwise awesome trucks.

Not disappointed at all because on my previous Ranger I had to lean way over and crank the handle to open/close the passenger window. Nice that I can press a button now. ?

I make no excuses for Ford
But you have to give them some wiggle room
Could you imagine if you had the job the design a general use truck for a million cry babies who want it perfect for them and how they use it?
Good thing there is after market options for those who know how to stop the crying and buy what suits them.
Well obviously I don't expect nor want a truck to ride like a car. Ford trucks just ride like ass compared to other trucks. My F150 rode like an F250.. Like good god ford.

If GM would stop making god awful designs, I would have considered them as an option.

2021 Scab 4X4 FX4 not lifted or leveled. I would describe my ride as firm when empty, but butter smooth with 500 lb or more in the box. I've never felt it is bouncy, maybe an extra 1/2 inch single rebound on a potholed two track. Good for now. I might go with the Ford by Fox shocks and OEM-size Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S' when the 'Kooks are shot
I want that "look" of a 73 year-old guy that occasionally drives a 3/4 mile no maintenance two track to a Bro in law's cabin, and out onto the lake in winter to snag a walleye.

Off topic, Mrs. Motorpsychology and I went out for a matinee lunch to a favorite restaurant in Pepin, WI. While sitting outside aprés déjeuner, a newish Mustang convertible glided by top down; White with the black/red seats. The couple appeared to be about our age, and we watched in silence as the motored out of view. After a moment of reflection Mrs. M pulled another sip from her Colorado Bulldog and said, " Y'know, If we sold your motorcycle and the Ranger, we could maybe buy a car like that..." ?
I didn't know whether to laugh hysterically, cry or agree, so I called for all the wisdom I could muster and replied, "Hmmph."

I've had mine (Lariat SCrew) for about a week. On my 2nd tank of gas....

First off, MPG is sorta kinda exactly what I was hoping for. On my first tank, the screen read 22.0 mpg and it was actually 22.2 with hand calc.

Tires were overinflated. Front driver side was almost 50. Leveled them out....down to 35....ride improved just a noticeable touch, but I still don't love it like I want to and for as much as I'll be driving. Rides down the road very nice at 60-70....smooth....but it's stiff on bumps, and I spend a chunk of time on backroads. Gonna get Billstein 5100's all around....and raise the front about an inch. Cha-ching.

Tranny is jumpy......but I feel like we're getting used to each other. Also, I don't love the sport mode like so many do. Haven't tried the tow mode yet. I was spoiled by my ex-wife's Acura MDX....that thing had a beastly sport mode. This Ranger sport mode isn't very smooth or sporty.....just racing through gears.

It keeps detecting someone on the backseat, even when there isn't anyone.

Yesterday, as I'm driving down the highway, the dash alerted me that my driver side door was open....it wasn't.

I had a minor paint scratch on the door that the dealer agreed to fix....very minor, but it was indeed into the paint, so they're going to touch it up or whatever they do when I go in for an oil change. Very very minor. Salesman was great and quickly took action when I showed him.

Not that impressed with the upgraded B&O sound system. I'm glad I have it, because I"m guessing I would've been really disappointed with the regular stock system.

Going to get front windows tinted as dark as MD law allows. Cha-ching.

Definitely need the rain/window guards. I had them on my last 2 vehicles and can't do without. Cha-ching.

I've ordered and am waiting to receive Rokblokz mudflaps. I got the xl size since I live on a stone driveway and this truck throws stones like it was designed for that purpose.

All in all, I'm very happy with it. I think it really does check all the needs I was looking for. I think it's going to be a great all purpose vehicle for the next 20 years. Looking forward to this summer with it and getting it christened on some beaches in VA and NC. I have a cap ordered that should/could be arriving almost any day. My kids are getting older, I'm single (well, from time to time anyway, lol) and am looking forward to more camping and surf fishing.

Check the recommended psi for tires in your door jam. I dropped mine to 30 and it helped a lot.

Mine says 35. I have the blackout package wheels. I also just checked my pressure, and they're all at 36/37. I'll drop them down a few more, get them somewhere under 35 and try that for a bit.

Interesting - me too but on a blackout Lariat Screw 4x4. Mine says 30 for the Hankooks.

I would think that 10 years field testing in Australia would have given them a much better idea of what was wrong and how to fix it. Not like it was from scratch for the USA. :frown:
That's what you'd expect but those in the design department here figure we're only going to cruise smooth perfectly flat freeway and not use our Rangers as trucks.
