at the 14 day mark....alot gets turned off because you cant do anything remotely with it.

Yeah but a lot is still on draining the battery in those 14 days. Plus if your battery is weak to begin with it might just be what pushes it to its death. Better safe than sorry and hook it up to life support.

Hopefully your Ranger will start, I was away for a month on a work travel and was worried it will not start, first thing I did when I got home was to turn it on and it starts right away.
