We were both kind of beat from everything we did yesterday so today we just went to Bear Mountain. It's just a 15 mile fire road that brings you up to a 7,100' lookout of the Black Hills. It's a fairly flat road that any vehicle can easily make it up and there's a lot of n
ice pull out areas to either camp or just pull off and have lunch and enjoy the cool weather and views.

If you're on 16/385 it's the left turn onto Medicine Mountain Rd about a half mile before you get to Crazy Horse. From there just follow the signs all the way to the top. There are many other roads you can continue on from there.

After that we went back down to the town of Keystone which is at the base of Mt Rushmore. We just stopped there for dinner last night and didn't get a chance to look around. Annie can shop like it's her job so of course we had to go back and buy more stuff. I might need a trailer to haul all this stuff home.

Well if you get a few antiques then maybe just haul them “Beverly Hillbillies “ style!! ?

If she keeps this pace up we won't even have enough money for gas! ?
Hey Dave, it’s really fun living vicariously through your adventures!! I’ve been in the same areas with the same type of your significant other as yours. We definitely had a blast!!! We are definitely looking forward to the next time!!!
I’m sure that stash of C-notes put away for “that” time will come in handy…

Enjoy!!!

Hey Andy, Glad you're enjoying it as much as we are. It's tough to try and plan everything out from a computer and then make it all work out once on the road. So far so good (except the fall) and sometimes you just have to wing it and go with the flow and we're having a blast too!

? She doesn't know about the C-note stash I have in my shaving kit. Lord knows she spend all that too on souvenirs.:curse: ?

There was a nice thunderstorm around 10:45 pm last night and seeing as we don't get many in AZ it was fun to watch it roll in. We're heading to Badlands today and hopefully this fog clears soon or it'll be an interesting drive there.

Dave, I presume you'll be going into the Badlands through the west entrance. When you go thru and come out the east entrance close to I-90 there's a Minuteman Silo you can look at. Fake missile of course. LMAO Interesting to see though!

That needs a splash of 303!
Looks like a nicely set up rig...has the molle rack with extra nite lighting, combo shovel/wash bucket/fire ring, a recovery rope, extra fuel tank up front, skinny tires that won't bog down, and a passenger holding a shotgun for protection.
