DeeZee Damper Extra Black Clips

I installed the DeeZee tailgate damper tonight to ensure my arms stay weak and my kids don’t get hit by a falling tailgate.

Included in the package were 2 small black clips not listed on the parts list or instruction steps.

Does anyone know what these do?

Ive never seen those before, mine doesn't have them and still works. lol Andrew @Strobes and Steve @IdahoRanger both received one from the damper giveaway. Maybe they can chime in and see if they got these clips with theirs?

Probably some lackey that couldn't tell a hood strut from a tailgate damper and threw them in the wrong package. Someone's getting fired come Monday!

Extra retaining clips. Set them aside for now.

I was secretly hoping they clipped onto the main cylinder to deflect the tailgate cable and prevent it from binding - - you know, on account of the terrible design flaw in the damper. ?

It's a velcro wrap I had from an HDMI cable. I just put a piece of black electrical tape below it to keep it from falling down. It guides the cable away from being pinched.

I've actually had one of these clips detach itself from the lower end of the dampening unit. It took a couple of wtf's, but I got the little bastard back in place. I feel a recall coming and Mr deezee knows it by packaging extra clips now.
