I went fishing and noticed that my TRUCK was level when the boat is hooked up.

Stupid question but I never removed struts before. Obviously you need to turn the strut body 30 degrees or so to line up the spacer studs to the control arm. None of the videos mention that, so does it turn fairly easily or how does that happen? Thanks in advance.Sounds like you got pretty far to give up now! Take some time to regroup and try again once your buddy is available.
I've never done a spacer lift so I'm not sure if this answers your question, but I did have to use some leverage and rotate the shock in order to align the lower mounting holes with the LCA holes.Stupid question but I never removed struts before. Fine enough, that’s all I needed to know. Thanks.I've never done a spacer lift so I'm not sure if this answers your question, but I did have to use some leverage and rotate the shock in order to align the lower mounting holes with the LCA holes.
I'm telling you man, I was absolutely wailing my aluminum knuckle and all it got me was a bit of tinnitus. Bought a pitman arm puller at AutoZone and it was out in seconds. With the aluminum knuckles, it should be a simple matter of loosening the nut and tap tap with a soft hammer or mallet. ? Cast iron knuckles, not so much.
Odd - do you have a tailgate damper? ?I'm telling you man, I was absolutely wailing my aluminum knuckle and all it got me was a bit of tinnitus. Bought a pitman arm puller at AutoZone and it was out in seconds.
Oh good point! Didn't think of that, but my tailgate is only gravity assisted!Odd - do you have a tailgate damper? ?
I was going to attempt it but opted to let the dealer tackle it. Getting too old for this. I purchased the lift from the dealer anyhow. Figured if they screw it up, it's on them.I'm going to make a second attempt to install mine this weekend.
Is it easily possible to turn the strut a little so the spacer lines up?
I didn't get quite that far last week as we couldn't get the tie rod end off. I bought a pickle fork today.
I am going to be lifting just a bit with my 5100s and 1inch rear lift using aftermarket shackles2wd is the same setup plus you don't have to worry about accidentally pulling out the axle shaft.
I got mine from Truxxx. They have 1.5", 2.5", and 3.5". I used theirs on the Sport Trac I had before, it's a quality product.
