I ordered a cactus grey 4x4 XLT, with off-road, 302A tech package, cruise control follow, lane keeping assist, off road, tow package, blackened, and maybe even a few other options in July, 21.

I was notified of it being set for production in mid Sept, that changed to late Sept. That changed to mid October, that changed to nobody knows when I'll get it.. Next update was from the dealer letting me know the 21 model year order was cancelled, and replaced with a 22 model year. Next update was late Feb telling me it was going to be built in March. The date changed a couple of times. About 10 days ago it started production. That lasted 5 days. Never got a "shipped" update. Instead the dealer called me Monday and told me it was there. And I could pick it up the next day (yesterday, 4/19).

The 302A package went from including heated seats to no heated seats mentioned. This frustrated me to no end because in July the dealer had a cactus grey on the lot, with tow package, but no heated seats. I'm at the age where I need heated seats year round lol. So they told me I could get $1k rebate if I ordered, so I took the chance and waited.

Well, it HAS HEATED SEATS! I'm so happy about that! And they are HOT HOT HOT! Truck is awesome.

And when I went to sign paperwork, my sales rep told me the rebates changed, and I was ready to hear I lost the $1k but she said now there's more, so I get $2750 (I think this was the amount. I remember thinking it all but covers the 7% tax). So out the door was a little under $41k. That was a fantastic deal and I'm happy to have waited.

A few things.. I wish I had gotten push button start. I'm not even sure if it was an option? The key hole is hidden by the steering wheel, so I need to lean over to see it. And the key is a flip key, so taking it in and out of my pocket requires opening and closing nearly the equivalent of a switch blade.

The low speed vibration is real. It's subtle but noticable. And I've read it's pretty common and something to with drive shaft rotation speeds before it winds out, or whatever. I think a few weeks of driving it and I'll be used to it and not even notice it.

The burn smell.. I've never driving a this new of vehicle (6 miles when I left the lot). When I first got out I thought it was burning something. Smelling around, it's pretty much everything that's rubber. I guess the first few times stuff gets hot it smells that way.

Everything else is pretty awesome. Goes 75 and feels like it's floating (which was way faster than I thought I was going. My old jeep made too much noise at 75. 60 was easy to keep just based on the shake and sounds haha). Stereo sounds great. Seats are comfortable as hell. I'm 6'5" and have plenty of leg and head room. Fun stuff!

I hope y'all get your rangers soon!

Basically the same truck I ordered in September. Got changed to a 22 in late October. Got built date in February and it’s been in production since 4/6!
Nice truck I’m getting anxious

Don't be surprised if the dealer calls you up and tells you it's ready. I've heard that happens sometimes. I'm guessing someone forgets to scan a barcode but the vehicle keeps moving through the process.

Congrats! Your rebate was for canceled 21 order + 1000$ rebate for custom order. Push start is on the Lariat trims I believe. I don't think any XLT can get push start even with 302a and full tech package.

That’s what’s weird on the Ford tracker it’s in production on 4/6 hasn’t moved since. The order tracker shows pages of numbers and stuff.? Dealer says it will be here May 13. Ford customer service says yes it’s in production and will be at the dealer on may 13. I guess the ford tracker is slow

I'm about to order, and this is the first I've heard of a low speed vibration. Is this something the dealer can correct?
Also, congrats! Thats a long wait.

It's something to do with the physics of the drive shaft, rotational torque, and U joints or something. I'm a princess when it comes to any vibrations and I noticed it on my first test drive back in July. The sales person said it's normal, and I kind of frowned and didn't like that answer. It was also part of my motivation to order, thinking that one had an issue.

After that I started researching it, and found out it's a result of the design, having as much torque as it does in a vehicle that weighs what it weighs. It happens around 8-10 mph and a slight shudder feeling when accelerating.

I just searched, and found this thread.

https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/thre...e-vibration-at-take-off-what-did-you-do.9245/

Seems to suggest some options to address it. I've also read that it lessens in time, as the engine mounts soften a bit and absorb the vibration. So who knows.. it's subtle though, like I've said. And I had a friend riding with me last night and I was trying to show him, and he couldn't even feel it. I'm just a sensitive Sally I guess lol.

In a few weeks the key will slide in without even looking, enjoy the new Ranger. ??
I already noticed that I'm folding the key with muscle memory as I pull it out. So yeah, I think that bit of annoyance is just getting used to something new, and eventually I'll miss it if I ever go back to a regular key. ?

Now all you have to worry about is the key getting stuck. Which reminds me, I need to add some 3-1 oil to get that thing moving again. Lol

Retired, work is a four letter word.
Nice truck! love the color.... enjoy! As a side note my 21 XLT never had the low speed shudder, so I guess I got lucky.

Give it a 1000 miles of varied driving. AND USE SPORT MODE, maybe even Tow if you have that. The truck will figure out what to do, It will.

If you still are fist-to-cuffs with the tranny, a Ford Performance Tune will make it much better and more fun.

Congratulations and Enjoy!
