It does something....when it's time to replace the reserve it will drive prices up.
Except that Biden has been releasing oil from the reserve not for US consumption, but to send it to the far east! Go Figure that one out!

One more general point... everyone is talking about starters wearing out and I agree, but probably more important is engine wear. Most engine wear occurs at startup. I have tuned off ASS.

Gee....I hope not.

It may not happen if electric cars will be the norm in the future.
The future is here in the trucking industry. Whatever you buy today was delivered in or on a 6-8mpg semi at some point from dock to door:

Ford now has a ASS delete option on Explorer Ranger F-150, & Expedition/ Navigator on 2022 orders.

ASS is a no problemo. When you come to a complete stop (who does that) and the eng stops the driver uses his/her head and decides if he/her wants to continue the start/stop feature. Then the driver decides to push the button or not. If pushing a button aggravates you to no end then you need counseling.

Gas stations should quit with that stupid 9 tenths.

Ok....I misunderstood what you said the 1st time. I deliver to truck stops. The reason why the fuel prices is so high is because the points you collect and the free shower is added on to the fuel prices. Go to a smaller truck stop that doesn't have showers and points and you'll see that it's a lot less.

And yes, some trucks can get as much as 300 gallons of fuel.

10-4, I drove OTR for a living. The company I drove for got a 15¢/gal discount if we bought xx000 gallons a month at Pilot/Flying J. TA/Petro, Love's have similar programs. I retired four years ago- can't imagine what the fuel surcharges are today! I ran a Kenworth T680 with a Cummins iNX13 13spd. DEF is up a buck or so a gallon it looks like, too.

Nothing but respect for those that keep our country moving on 18 wheels and deal with our dipshit 4 wheel types daily.

I've never been OTR. I work locally for Love's delivering diesel and gas to the stores.

I'm seeing trucks fuel up all the time. But I don't pay attention to how much they spend. All I care is that they are fueling up and I'm keeping the stores full.

I've left mine on since the day I drove off the lot., I have no issue with it.. Been used it as we own a Prius.

I shake my head on the ones say we need a new starter soon..

I also have kept mine on, and overall like it -- I only have two complaints:
1) I wish we could change the activation time to something longer, like 15 seconds.
2) prevent it from turning the engine back when stopped in the driveway and shifting from D to P. I can't see a reason why ASS should turn on the engine when shifting from P to N to D! I pull up, hit the brakes, the engine turns off, shift into Park, and the engine turns back on!

gets updated on mondays but standard fsc should be around $0.60 mile this week with fuel just under $5 a gallon

I agree, and make it stay off long enough to actually save some fuel.

Not to long ago people were bragging about their performance "tunes", suspension mods, large and heavy tires, ASS delete, etc.
What you say now. The so called fun stuff is not so fun anymore. Are you going to sell your gas guzzler and get a little car? LOL
