Hey there guys, just got my truck spray lined recently and now I looking for a decent roll up soft cover mostly for the weather/sun as well as whatever mpg boost it will give me.

I've gone through most of the existing threads now and it seems that feedback on the covers is mixed with a lot of problems with getting a good purchase on the bedrails with some of the covers coming additional brackets that screw into the bed as well as a lot of talk about many of the covers being identical from various companies (truxdeo, gator etc).

Also looking at low profile vs over the rail as the Gator SR1 pro that's on sale right now seems to be over the rail vs the SRX that was previously on sale. I know you loose a bit of bed width with a flush lo pro cover, anything else to consider between the two styles?

Thanks.

I just purchased the tonnosport roll up off stage 3 motorsports. It's low profile, super easy to install and I've seen instant mpg increase upwards to 27 mpg. Fast free shipping from those guys and for $249 you can't beat it.

I have the Access Vanish and it's held up great in the (almost) 3 years I've had it. I use mine daily as I use my Ranger for work and have had zero problems with it. I do use the 303 Aerospace Protectant on it every 2-3 months and it looks brand new still.

Looks like prices have really gone up since 2019. I paid $308.00 for mine but there is a sale going on now.

My previous three trucks had roll up tonneau covers, one had snaps and the other two had a nylon hook arrangement that grabbed a slot in the rail. The frustrating issue with these tonneau covers was if you rolled them up in the cold weather it would shrink and would be almost impossible to hook back down until it either warmed up our sat in the sun for an hour or two. Never considered a Velcro one because I have seen to many that are not tight and the Velcro no longer holds.

For the Ranger I decided to get a soft tri-fold. The one I got is from Gator. This design solves the shrinkage issue and is super easy to open/close with spring loaded clamps at the back. And, if you need the entire bed open it come completely off in about 30 seconds. You can put it back on in less time than it used to take to roll out and refasten the roll up type.

Check out https://tonneaucoversworld.com/

They have most brands and types at great prices.

I ended up ordering a Tonopro Lo Roll from the amazon warehouse that was like new for 150 bucks, just got it and they sent me something completely different, some kind of snap cover from Bestop so that's going back.

I was going to get the Gator SRX since its back on sale but decided to roll the dice on the Amazon ETX version since it is 35 bucks cheaper after tax right now so hopefully it actually comes with the brackets to fill the voids in the bed rail like SRX seems to.

My Gator tri-fold came with a piece of rectangular cross section foam to fill the step between the front wall of the bed and the bed sides. It also came with two blocks of foam to seal the openings up under the bed rail at the front of the bed.

I was actually talking about the brackets that go in the threaded bed holes that give additional support the bed rails that I've seen some people mention in their reviews

Nothing like that came with the Gator tri-fold and the instructions were generic and accommodated most brands and there were no brackets mentioned.

I believe this

I believe this is probably for low profile roll-up type covers

I went with the Truxedo Lo Pro and it works great. Easy to remove when needed .

This is the one I've been looking at. You wouldn't happen to have a picture of the clamp on rails with the cover rolled up would you. I can't figure out if the rails sit on top of the bedside caps or to the inside edge.

They sit on the inside edge. Yes, it's filthy but it's winter.

Those are great covers! I had one on my Tacoma and it's nice you can take the cover easily off by pushing the two latches.
