How do you get all of them all to come on and turn off by the remote? I can get one or two to respond but never all 4 of them:>( Of course it doesn't come with instructions.....
Mine didn't have instructions either...but when I aim the remote, they all come on or off.

So finished the install on mine over the weekend. Had two issues with them, one a small engineering issue and the other just me not wanting to cut any holes in truck. This kit included 2 switches, one for each side in addition to the remote. So, I added a couple plastic boxes to house the switches. Other than that, the engineering issue is just that the lead for the IR remote is not very long...3 inches or so. I mounted that behind the license plate so I did drill a hole to get it out above the plate. Power came from the connector on drivers side for the bed power spot.

I would like to see some pictures of where/how you mounted the switch and the IR lead too.

Above the plate is the IR lead.
The switch is cut into a phone jack box and double sided taped to bed.
The power supply is behind the plate. This had to be pretty centered as the leads to each light bank were not very long.

Thanks - this looks pretty good and it is pretty cheap too. I may end up doing something similar.

Thank you for the detailed photos and description

I think I'm going to go with a slightly different unit. Thinking of this one:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MZW6HFM/

No remote and only white lights, but includes one switch for both sides.

One question - did you just use a wire tap to tap into the plug for the bed power? Or did you find a plug to plug into that? I've been told those wire taps are not good ways to tap into a wire. Something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Quick-Splice-Connector-16-14-Gauge/dp/B003L9KWQ4

I hate to cut wiring on a brand new truck.....

Thanks

For my install, we cut the 12v bed plug and used that power source, it also turns off after 2 hours so I'm not going to drain the battery if I leave the LEDs in the bed on.
I'm not going to need power to the bed so why not use it and it's a source w/ a fuse.
Butt connectors are best instead of the quick splice connectors but it's just an opinion.
I have a buddy at work that does a lot of repairs on trailer wires for our company and all the quick splice cause problems if a butt connector and crimp can be used he will do that for sure.

Good points. I don't ever see myself putting the bed outlet in either - if it were a 120v outlet I could see I might do it - but not for 12v.. Even so, I will probably cut just the power and maybe the ground wire (if there is one) and leave them long so they could be hooked back up at some point if needed/wanted.

I will probably solder and then heat shrink the connections instead of a butt splice. I'm no expert, but it sounds like that is the better way to do it - takes a bit longer, but people I who do a lot more of this than I do say it is the better method.

Thanks for the info.

Yeah, solder and heat shrink, top of the list technique if you have the time and patience.
LOL, I don't. So went w/ second choice technique.

If you don't have the 12v outlet option, is there a plug in spot for the outlet in the main harness? I don't plan on adding the outlet, but would love to use the harness to power bed lights (when I get them). I don't like to cut/splice into OEM wiring if I can help it. Much rather make a pigtail or modify a factory pigtail to plug in.
