So I went for a 6 hour trip the other day, the leather seats just hurt after a few hours an I really didn’t like it. I have many more ahead of me an I want something comfortable, and I’ve really wanted a power stroke.

Well I was able to score one for a decent deal, only 57k miles and it’s a platinum an actually same color as my ranger ? so I told friends and family that it grew up.

From the looks of it you were definitely in the wrong truck for you lol - congrats on the swap!
I wasn’t exactly after the ranger, something happened to where it go to me and I loved it the 2 months I had it. Did modifications, I loved the gas mileage. But those diesels got a hold of me lol. Also those seats were a breaking point, this platinum is like sitting in a recliner. Thank you!

Nice looking Platinum Jay! I'm surprised to hear you thought the leather seats were uncomfortable. I love mine and find they're super comfy on long trips but everyone is different and you have to get what suites you best. IIRC those have the integrated damper in the taillights so you defiantly upgraded there. ? Good luck with your new ride!

Yeah honestly it’s weird, my friend also said it hurt when she drove back. They are the beige leather seats, they seem very hard. It’s just I’m going on 8-14 hour trips frequently in the year. Haha sure did ? I’m loving the whistle. The fenders got a good amount of tires on them now lol.

We rented an F250 powerstroke to tow our then Nobo 10.6, I too fell in love with it. Man, no telling the little 2500lb trailer was back there.

We landed on the Ranger to tow our Geo Pro 19Bh mostly because the way I wanted to spec an F150, it just was not a responsible move at the time. My wife wants one still but the Ranger grew on me so much, I just dont want to let it go. If I do, an F250 would make for a nice trade lol

You bought a vehicle and kept it for 2 months then traded it in?

Well I didn’t pay full price on the ranger, I wasn’t in the market for a mid size truck. But it was a great opportunity coming from a V8 F150, I tried to keep it I really did. Even put 4k into it, but I just thought about how nice of down payment that would be for a power stroke. Also those seats were awful for me, my right cheek would be throbbing after 2 hours in.

Odd.

The Ranger has some of the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in. The 10 hr drive I took in Jan. was great.

Hope you like your new ride.

The day after I bought my Ranger Lariat FX4 I did a 1,300 mile trip from TX to NV. Two day trip and zero issues. Never had any complaints with the seat. Maybe it was the joy of a new truck purchase. But I hear seat complaints about the Ranger a few times by others.

I remember when you could get ski boots that you filled with foam to fit your feet. Maybe somebody can invent a seat cushion that fill with foam while you sit on it. Some people are odd butts ref. damper people. LOL

I haven't taken any really long trips in my Ranger yet, but for 3-4 hours its pretty comfortable, you should be stopping for a break or meal at that point anyways. There are plenty of rolling couches out there if that's what you're looking for. Nice F250 though- enjoy!

Under normal market conditions, I'd be in a used F150 right now. Instead I sit and wait on my build-to-order Ranger, which is honestly kinda fun even though I wish I had it now! I enjoyed the two F150s I had in the past. I'm 6'4 ~230lbs so it's a better fit. But right now a new Ranger made sense for size, fuel economy, and cost. I'd rather spend the money on a smaller new truck than used 150 with 50k miles, especially since I don't really NEED the F150 capability.

Ranger to 250 is a big step up, congrats and I hope it meets your needs!

i'm curious on the OP's loss/gain on the trade though.
Times are crazy, did he lose his shirt on it, or walk out with an extra fat wallet that would have made the seats uncomfortable in itself.
Wondering the same thing!
