ya, but he said favorites...and you could only have one. ;-)

It's kinda like if you could only have ONE truck, would you pick a 2wd base model Ranger or Ranger Raptor clone?

I used Glocks off and on but never warmed up to the fat grip and angle. Had the opportunity to trade for a G48 and immediately liked the way it felt. Thin and light too, but still a 15+1 pistol using the Shield Arms mags. I was Cerakoting one of my M&Ps so I did the slide of the G48 as well.
Compared to my friend's G19, the 48 feels way better. And the Ameriglo sights are a great upgrade over the white dot ones.

Mostly I enjoy burning up some .22 ammo in these two Brownings, or in my S&W M63.

Currently, I'm working up some loads for this pair of .44 Magnums, a Marlin 1894P and a S&W Model 69. Both are the most pleasant shooting .44s I have ever used.
FnLPwlYh.jpg

The 1894P has a factory recoil pad and porting around the front sight. The muzzle rise and effect on your shoulder using full power magnum ammo isn't bad at all.
(If you want to get kicked, try those loads out of a Rossi R92 or Browning B92 with the curved metal buttplate.)

The S&W is the first .44 mag that they didn't build on an N frame. By dropping one round from the cylinder, S&W made the .44 fit into an L frame.
Result is a lower bore to hand ratio, and to me, a completely different feeling in recoil.
Smiths like the 29 and 629 or the Ruger Redhawk, recoil back into the web of your hand pretty good.
This 69 lifts up pretty quick, but doesn't come back against my hand at all.
Yesterday I shot a box of my handload with 19.0 grs of Accurate #9 under a Hornady 240 XTP.
It was not fun and pleasant like the same bullet at 850 fps, but it wasn't painful one bit.

Sometimes when I go camping I'll keep one of my Mini-30s behind the rear seat of the Ranger, but I can see the little Marlin riding back there as well.

If you spend any time around sport shooters you will find they go out of their way to follow the law. Which is why I always say banning guns won't stop gun crime since criminals don't follow the law by nature. If they did the "no gun zones" would work. Legal gun owners don't want to A: go to jail B: hurt anyone except as a last resort C: lose their right to own/carry firearms.

I didn't know Canada allowed firearm manufacturers in their country.

I like this thread! Of my guns this has to be my favorite! Fox Trot Mike 9mm w/5in barrel and adjustable stabilizing brace. I add law tactical folding stock, and topped it with Sig Romeo 5 red dot. It folds up and fits into any backpack I have. And it takes Glock mags so 31 rounders are easy to find... Well used to be....

Well, I retired yesterday. And I was presented with my last duty sidearm. They did an awesome job on the presentation (case and engraving). I will cherish this thing!
