Used Blizzaks on my wife's last three vehicles, no studs, she won't roll on anything else in the winter.

but are blizzaks really better than just studded 3 peak hybrid tires? and you can just take studs out in the summer and run the same tires correct? Id rather not have to pay for a set of winter tires just for one winter, blizzaks are $$$

I like the michelin ice x. That being said I tend to have dry snow and lots of ice. Very cold temps where I live.

Never ran studded tires, not legal here. I don’t think you can take studs out and put back in tires.

Doesn't sound like a $$$ saving plan either. What did your truck cost? Sliding into the ditch is cheaper than buying snow tires?

You don't have to have winter tires to know how to drive in the winter haha, just alot easier.

I have had Firestone Winterforce tires on three vehicles now. Compared to other brand (Yokohama and Dunlap) winter tires I have had these are by far the best in snow and slop.

The General Grabber ATx tires that came on my Ranger have the mountain snow flake rating so I am waiting to give them a try before deciding on getting Winterforce's for it.
Do yourself a favor and get a different tire for the winter. I had a set of ATX's and they were horrible in snow and ice.

I still think the kenda klever with studs will fit my needs, and from everything I've seen today in research you can take the studs out and run them even if they are somewhat chewed up.

When it comes to studs on whether or not they can be removed I can't say. As for a good winter tire to use from my experience is the Cooper Discovery M&S. I ran a set with studs and they did well(until worn out). Now I am on my Firestone Destination XT tires on my work van and Ranger. Yes I love how they do in snow but I also understand a winter tire will still beat them.

ya really didn't wanna waste the money on winter only tires for 4 months just need them to be better since I'm upgrading to bigger tires already. My wife has the blizzaks so I knew they are good, but experience in the snow is still better.

If you are in Alaska I can't say. If you are in north Carolina the it may be worth checking out the Firestone Destination XT's

He probably didnt understand the fact you cant run studded tires where you live. A fair bit of places are like that.
