Who’s using their Ranger for overlanding/off grid camping?

I pick up my roof top tent this weekend, and am planning to get my boys outdoors and enjoy the world. I’ve added a 589Fab bed rack and am picking up a FreeSpirit Rec Adventure 55 GS Premium. I’ve got a tentative plan to run the 7 Hr Plane Crash from Wisconsin to the Michigan U.P.

im on board with it. just need the american history flash cards to by a lil trailer. i despise tents and hate screwing with them roof top or other wise me and tents are not friends lol.

Here’s my slow build. Got the ome bp-51 kit installed. Thinking my next add on will be the rsi smart cap. For camping we’ll probably use a trailer of sorts.

Me, wife and dogs did 6,300 miles from Cleveland to Belgrade Montana to pick up the GFC then continued to Portland to see the kids and back in 12ish days.

We had a smaller version of that tent on our NoBo 10.6, I loved it. Slept in 32F with it and no issues (wife and kids inside the NoBo 10.6 with electric heater lol). I think you will love it.

Personally I want to camp off grid with the Ranger but still thinking of where I will sleep. I have a tent but I got used to sleeping inside my Honda Pilot that I am trying to see what I can do with the truck. Maybe once I remove the car seats (two of them) I might be able to sleep in the backseat or worst case the bed since my BakFlip MX4 opens easily from the inside.

Most of the time we are just towing our Geo pro 19BH for outdoor fun with the fam.

This is my rig. It's changed a bit since this picture was taken. I have a 23Zero RTT in my garage ready to be installed on the Billie Bars. So far, the wife and I have only done weekends, but I have a 9 day trip in the works for this coming year.

You are correct. We are going to be building an offroad trailer pretty soon, so I have the option to move the tent if I need to.
