Follow up video the entire M190 front end will need to be replaced (spider gear blown out) and it is not a serviceable unit. Why put a non serviceable front unit in a 4x4?

Looks like he was going way to fast. When he hit the mud he came to a complete stop blowing out the pinion and gears.

Some people have money to burn and more money than sense...
Isn't that the truth! Not sure what would posses you to go into some thing like that so fast? Inexperience is one but IIRC he's had other 4x4's before. Like you said Mike, more money than brains.

I'm going to state the unwelcome.

I've seen Jeeps do dumber things without breaking the drivetrain.

What's up Ford?

I've also seen jeeps do dumb things and break the drivetrain. Sometimes shit happens.
I think it probably comes down to a solid front axle is inherently stronger than a similar IFS.

Not that Jeeps really need anything dumb to break, but this looked like it broke too easy.

I suspect it was more from the slamming into the side than from the sudden traction differential.

Those half shafts don't like that.

LOL , I've seen Jeeps break going down a flat hwy . This guy was just dumb .

Reminds me of a friend back in 2000 that drove his Chevy K truck into a deep mud hole at about 35mph and promptly hit a stump . He tore the frontend completely out from under the truck :)

He went into that right turn into the pit in full send mode with both front tires spinning like mad, when the front left tire hit the hard side of that mud hole and stopped rotating the spider gear was shock loaded badly.......and that was all she wrote for that little gear. He did a bunch more damage listening to all the neat noises it was making after he blew that gear, didn't really matter though if it's a sealed non serviceable assembly and wasn't worth a dime at that point anyway.

I was going to say - to be fair, he hit that mud puddle REALLY fast - I'm surprised he got out of it.

And yes, more money than brains....
