My biggest concern is my vehicles weight the way it's set up. I do have Eibach shocks and an Autoleaf add-a-leaf kit on the rear. The trailer is below my vehicle's capabilities stock, I'm just wondering how it'll be with the way I've got it set up weight wise. The good news is I've got an adjustable drop-hitch!

You tow a boat so surge brakes should be familiar to you. Make sure the tongue is level with your adjustable drop and you should be OK.

Dealing with Uhaul and their franchisees will be your biggest problem.

The last time I dealt with U-Haul, it went all horrible and it actually worked out great! I rented a car-hauler trailer to bring home a 1968 Ford F-100 Ranger I had just bought. I didn't own a truck big enough to tow that (2003 Ranger XLT regular cab with 3.0 V6). My roommate had a BRAND NEW Chevy Avalanche, and agreed to help me out. We went over to the U-haul place and they hooked up the trailer, and then drove up north 40 minutes to where I worked (the '68 was stashed at my precinct parking lot) to load up the truck. Well, while loading the truck, the trailer came detached from the Avalanche, and the tongue of the trailer ended up spearing the tailgate of my roommate's brand new truck!

I was sooooooo glad I bought the extra insurance! U-Haul's insurance came out to the apartment, did up the claim, and actually paid out a couple bucks more than it cost to make my roommate's truck right.

I'm doing this rental because we are starting the 2.5 month process of moving from North GA to South FL. The day after closing I'm going to take a bunch of stuff 10 hours south so my wife can at least move out of the Air B&B she'll be in and stay at our new house. I've scheduled the pickup for the morning before I leave so I can load the trailer up. And the drop off will be during the day during normal business hours at a 3rd party vender. Fingers crossed I don't have issues because I'm anticipating being tired and stressed.

I would suggest calling the location that is supposed to have your trailer the night before to verify. Hopefully that'll head off any fuckery.

I will add one thing. If you know that you are carrying more weight than a stock Ranger just pay attention to how much weight you are putting in the U-haul. I pulled a 6x12 loaded with my Ranger with the bed loaded from Dallas Texas to North East Missouri no issues. In fact I did that 5 times. Drive safe. Side note. I have dealt mostly with private party U-haul rentals not a dealer. The guy in Texas use to live in Missouri, he rented me a 6x12 for the price of a 5x7.

Yep! I actually just got the HOA documents from the seller's agent last night and I was quite happy with what I saw. Our biggest concerns where our dogs and my truck. We have a (very old) German Shepherd Dog and a Pitbull/Beagle mix. I couldn't find any of the HOA documents online, but I found one for the south end of the development that didn't allow Pitbulls or dangerous breeds. But the north end of the sub development has separate and different HOA rules and just says limit it to two dogs and they can't be a nuisance. So that's awesome. As far as pickup trucks go, they have to be non-commercial. I do have a roof-top-tent mounted on my truck, and I'm hoping that doesn't cause any issues because they have rules against "recreational vehicles". But it generally looks like I will be okay!
