Phil,
Did they do your Echocardiogram today ?
Hi Doc,

Yep....down through throat and then cardioversion shock treatment. When I woke up all the folks were gone but two nurses were there but they relayed the cardiologist said they got it back in rhythm and was confident it would stay there. Area where the paddles were attached front and back are like a sunburn. Still spacey from the sedation....before the start Cardiologist said I would likely only have to take the blood thinners for another month and then drop them... All in all it was a quick process and all the what if's did not happen. Maybe I can even sleep tonight with few worries. Not going to say it was a "piece of cake" but thankful I was not in the hospital over night or longer which I always dread...

Feel a bit of a big baby for being so afraid of this whole thing... Oh well...hope it lasts...

Best,
Phil

Wrapped my Australian subwoofer box with knock-off dynamat. I don't expect a huge difference, but it should help a bit. I got a big box of the stuff, so on the list of projects is to do all of the doors (along with upgrading the speakers while I'm in there), then maybe the roof. I'm more concerned about the doors because of the tinny sound when they shut, but the roof also sounds pretty bad when I get a (touchless) carwash.

The unknown makes it a bit scary the first time. Sounds like you had a TEE.

Glad you converted and things went well. Next time (if there is one) ask for propofol it will feel like you took a nap and no after effects. Yup, the paddles can give you a burn. Patches both on front or one front and back both work for me but it takes 150 joules.

Hi Steve,

Yes. TEE and Cardioconversion. Paddles front and back.... Doc thinks this was gotten very early and will stick. Not so much for some folks that had condition for years....

I succumbed to the "I had a friend who had Cardioconversion and died...had a stroke, had a heart attack yadda, yadda, yadda..." Do not know what it is with people like that but they delight in telling the worst case..... Scared the crap out of me... Also, Web is not much help with all the misinformation that you have to sort through as well.

Oh well...over and done and hopefully never again...Doc thinks this is the case for me because it just happened...

best,
Phil

Now put some fun miles on that Ranger, you slacker! Geez, 3,000 is not even broken in, and I thought I was bad, should hit 12,000 at year 2 birthday in December!

Phil, that is good news. I often wondered how many shocks a heart can take but am living proof it is a LOT! Halloween is my 8th year anniversary of my last cardioversion. Hoping your NSR sticks. This site has links to good info: https://www.stopafib.org/

Installed the AVS Aeroskin hood protector this afternoon. Went with the black, textured original version which was surprisingly hard to find now that the V2 and lighted versions are available.

That's on my list of things to get. I'm worried about placement there due to heat exposure and I don't like to advertise the nice things I put in my truck. I may have to ask you later how it works out. What are you using for an antenna?

Although I live in Vegas and it gets hot, the entire windshield is tinted with ceramic tint and my truck never sits in the sun. At work it’s in a secure parking garage, and at home I park inside the garage. I used Velcro to secure the base in case I do need to leave it parked somewhere, I would take the head unit with me. Right now I’m using an 18” NMO comet antenna. I drilled a hole right above the dome light and I have a permanent NMO mount installed there.

Have I been too subtle in asking for it?

Lol, I’m so far down the rabbit hole at this point it’s pitch black….you won’t be able to see me blink twice.

What you could do is toss me a safety line and tell me that I absolutely do not need an engine cover. I can have one delivered by Thursday….and my finger is hovering above the “Add to Cart” button as I type.

Blink, Blink.
