Check it out ? Kinda sounds like a flock of small coastal birds.

This was after about half an hour of freeway driving. First noticed it when exiting. Most pronounced between 40 and 50 mph, coasting/floating. Frequency of chirp seems loosely correlated with speed, quickening and fading away above 50, slowing and stopping under 40. Applying power interrupts it. Inside the cab it's difficult to ascertain what area it's coming from. No sound at low speeds, with load and brake on, or in park.

Belts feel tight enough to me but I'll be looking for a thread on tensioning them as a first port of call.

I had a good long look for posts about the same issue. Only after I posted mine did I find one. Sounds like it's the driveshaft carrier bearing. Yippee!

Is it an outside noise or inside? I would have said wheel bearings yet if you say it's relatively unrelated to speed and not more prominent in cornering, it's not that.

Definitely much louder with the windows down, but still difficult to place front or rear. Wheel bearings certainly crossed my mind, and I'm always nervous about my CVs after I separated them while leveling the truck. But as you say, turning doesn't seem to have any effect.

Sounds a lot like this post, which turned out to be the ds carrier bearing.

Both seem consistent; independent of speed or revs.
Vacuum leak? Fuel pump? Millions of years ago, some mid size Fairlanes would whistle at 30-40 mph, like when there is a window not quite all the way shut. Air from under the hood would make a whistling sound coming out through a body panel seam or some other gap under the hood.

Does the noise stop if you gently brake or gently pull the parking brake?

Noise stops when I slow down. If It happens around 30-40 mph, slowing down to around 25 mph will stop it

Braking didn't seem to affect the sound other than, like Flowgod said, slowing the vehicle below 40mph where it fades away.
I can't get mine to do it now that it's warmer outside. Gonna pop a gopro on the underside tomorrow morning. See if that makes anything apparent.

Pushing gently the brake pedal or the parking brake was meant to isolate the noise coming from the wheels.

Can you try to change the gear once the noise is on, to a gear the gearbox would use at below the speed range you observed? If possible select neutral - I have a manual gearbox so I do not know what the 10sp auto allows.

Also, in a straight line try selecting 4H and then 2H to see if that changes anything.

This morning I tried Neutral when the squeal came on and it didn't have an affect on it. I have tried selecting different gears too without any luck of the noise changing or stopping

So it's not the engine, nor the gearbox, nor the brakes. The center bearing is the next candidate. The gearbox and transfer case are still suspects as those rotate with the wheels too. I am afraid I am out of simple diagnosis options. I am not giving up on my attempt to help yet I guess from now on it gets invasive or in the workshop Ranger experienced area.

PS: listened to the sound again, it does not seem to be a rotational component, rather an air current flipping item. I would try to check if it comes from the front, sides, back or underneath and look for loose items too.
If you are not faint hearted, one DANGEROUS option is to jack the rear in a safe manner, in the 2H mode and "drive it" to the speed range you hear the noise in.

A while back, a few owners had some issues with wind whistling as it passed over the seam in their mirror covers. Try putting tape over that area and see if it goes away. I can’t remember there permanent fix but will look for it.

Yeah, my 2020 Supercrew XLT makes the same seagull chirp (I was waiting for the “Flock of Seagulls jokes!”)
Anyway, I’ve seen lots of Turbo waste gate squeak observations from forum members. I suspect that is the problem. The solution appears to be “graphene oil” (as reported by some members):
https://www.grapheneoil.com/
“All purpose graphene oil lubricant”
1 oz $9.95 + $5 shipping.
Some members have tried it successfully so I will try it and report back. Just ordered it today.
Members say it handled the heat and cured the chirp. Keeping my fingers crossed (again).
