  1. Can't We All Just Get-a-long?

    CIALIS is THE BESTEST!!!!!!! ?
  2. Ford Ranger - long term reliability

I agree! I DID sell my ā€˜20 for ā€œā€¦an offer I couldnā€™t refuse. Now Iā€™m back in the market, looking at Tacomaā€™s and Rangers, again. I liked my Ranger very much, and what Iā€™m reading here is leaning me toward the ā€˜22 Ranger as the all around better truck.
  3. 2019 Heater Box failed. Getting rid of this truck.

I would be ALL OVER the area factory rep that authorizes coverage for something like this. The dealer service manager should be talking with them te: covering some or all of this, as it is just outside of warranty, and is a major cost failure. I just sold my 2020 (33k miles) just to capitalize...
  4. Chirping squeal.

Yeah, my 2020 Supercrew XLT makes the same seagull chirp (I was waiting for the ā€œFlock of Seagulls jokes!ā€) Anyway, Iā€™ve seen lots of Turbo waste gate squeak observations from forum members. I suspect that is the problem. The solution appears to be ā€œgraphene oilā€ (as reported by some members)...
  5. Front Alignment Issue

Would you believe I just saw a Ford dealership ad that suggests that the Ranger might need an alignment every 5-10k miles. WHAT????? (I didnā€™t want to say WTF(?) so Iā€™m glad I didnā€™t say it!) ? Is this the new normal? My buddy the former Ford tech/shop owner pointed out my visibly toe-out...
  6. Front Alignment Issue

Pretty easy in general. I can still hear my dad telling (my teenage self) to ā€œSlow Down on those turns! Those tires cost money!ā€ Those same words came out of my mouth when I taught my kids to drive. ? I think youā€™re right, it may be out of spec.
  7. Front Alignment Issue

Thanks Red! Would you expect any noticeable change in steering characteristics, after correction?
  8. Front Alignment Issue

2020 Ranger Supercrew Sport 2wd, 30k (generally easy) miles: In for 5k oil change today. I noted front tire inner edge wear. Service writer said ā€œFord sets an aggressive front end alignment for better steering control, which results in shorter tire life.ā€ He said he rarely gets much more than...
  9. Ford Ranger - long term reliability

Gotta agree with every bit of that! 5k oil changes for me too! Iā€™ve gone with the factory recommended Motorcraft Semi-Syn. (I do use Full Syn and longer change intervals for my Toyotas).
  10. Ford Ranger - long term reliability

Reasonable question! I went all in for a 2020 Ranger Sport. (Im a long time Toyota guy). So farā€¦ 30,000 trouble free miles. I love driving it. Itā€™s very comfortable. I treat it easy, with the exception of occasionally working the turbo. (I want longevity.) Wife likes driving it too, and she...
  11. Ordered a New Ranger. After reading about the numerous problems on this Forum I am not sure I made a good choice.

2020 4 door Sport 2WD: First, Iā€™m not real happy about the gear whine that Ford decided was ā€œnormalā€, (in some, not all, trucks). But otherwise I really like the truck. Itā€™s comfortable, powerful and I get compliments all the time on the looks. (I think Ford did a great job on design.) I go...
  12. 2 Squeeks/Squeels

    Will do!
  13. 2 Squeeks/Squeels

Wow!! I will check into that. Note: As the sun comes out and everything warms up the squeal and squeak disappeared. I will look at the waste gate for sure. Thanks!
  14. 2 Squeeks/Squeels

Thanks for the response! Excellent ideas for possibilities!! Lots of easy highway miles here, not much stop and go driving, so ā€œwear indicatorā€ didnā€™t even occur to me-DUH!! ? I think some owners have said pads wore out earlier than expected. My VW Westfalia has sticky disc caliper issues with...
  15. 2 Squeeks/Squeels

2020 Ranger 4 Door Sport package: 28k miles. Hi all from the Cali Central Coast! 2 Problems: 1) Hi moisture area right here by the ocean. I get what sounds like a belt squeal at first early morning start up (intermittently). Iā€™m thinking itā€™s just moisture because it goes away quickly. 2) Just...
  16. Engine "buzz" at low speeds/rpm

Lots of comments about it here (including some by me). Scroll through these pages. UPDATE: A good friend who is a former excellent ford technician and later owned his own very successful shop (now retired) said to try ā€œBG brand ATCā€œ an automatic transmission, pour in additive. He said the BG...
  17. Engine "buzz" at low speeds/rpm

I only get it generally between 1500 and 2000 RPM, (maybe in 2nd or 3rd gear) both going up through those gears (from a stop) and coming down (through 2nd and 3rd) to a stop.
  18. Engine "buzz" at low speeds/rpm

Itā€™s possible that your truck doesnā€™t make the noise. Fordā€™s position on this is ā€œsome make it and some donā€™t...,ā€ and this has indeed been the experience of many customers. Mine for sure makes it. Fordā€™s description that ā€œ...this is a normal operation of the 10 speed transmission...ā€ without...
  19. Engine "buzz" at low speeds/rpm

Ford engineering went with the ā€œ...normal characteristic of gear offset of 10 speed transmission.ā€ Yes that must be why some make the noise AND SOME DONā€™T (?) Then give me ONE THAT DOESNā€™T! Iā€™m infuriated. Ford is ā€œredefiningā€ a PROBLEM on some of the trucks into ā€œItā€™s normal for SOME TRUCKS to...
