Dave, I am so curious why did you buy from a smaller dealer in Iowa in the first place ? You live in metro Phoenix. Was it a friend who owns it ? Are you from there originally ?

Trying to talk you off the ledge here, you have been going on and on about your Bronco for years. I know you still love the vehicle.

From a detached view of this, you are so mad at the dealer allocation that you are willing to consider buying a Jeep instead, your loyalty to the local dealer surpasses your love of the Bronco.

My suggestion is to be selfish, find a Bronco wherever you can find it in the US buy a plane ticket and drive it home. Surely there are some orphans or buyer back out transactions somewhere in the US. I don’t know just assuming so.

Whatever you will buy you will keep for awhile so don’t make a snap decision over emotion, just my 2 cents.
Chris, there were two reasons for buying it in IA. All the Ford dealers here are at msrp of more and Granger has a great reputation for being honest and transparent which I haven't found one in my area that is. They are selling them at invoice and in October of 2020 they had a month long special with an additional $2,000 off + invoice pricing. Our plan was to fly out there and take a month long trip back SD,WY,MT and back home through CO.

After pricing out the Jeep that I like I doubt I'd go that route, it was said in haste and anger yesterday. I would still need to add a lot of mods to it to make it the way I want and it's not worth it to me. The Bronco was going to just be a toy and for a good price I'd buy it but I'm not paying full msrp or more. I'll still put my order in for '22 in the hopes that Ford changes back to their original plan and go with timestamps. The way the allocation system is now I would be lucky to receive mine at the end of 2024. It's possible that a lot will drop out and push this up sooner and/or Ford changes the allocation in 2023? Thanks for the advise. :)

There is not a dealer in the Phoenix area that would come close to the deal he got from Granger Ford. If Granger could get me a new Ranger XLT FX4 for invoice, I would seriously consider it. The shipping would be @ $1200-$1500 to Phoenix and I would just need to pay Arizona state sales tax to title and register it in Arizona. Without looking it up, the tax would be @ 2.5%-3% lower since I would not have to pay city tax.

I don't watch NASCAR or that much tv so I had to look this up the other day. At first I thought I missed something on here in regards to our own Brandon @dondonbabyraptor and I saw it in Sids signature. Very fitting for both Ford and JB. ?

Hahahaha. I also had to look this up the other day. Except I thought @Msfitoy was saying it for me "to go" rural. Then my friend sent me a photo of a bumper sticker with it. Oddly... Coincidental... *looks it up real quick* *dies in laughter*

I notice that since that announcement to change the way orders are being filled, Ford has also changed the FAQ questions page, removing the one that says "orders are filled in the order they are received" from the launch page. I'm still digging around to see if it's removed altogether. I smell a fat class action suit coming Ford's way over this, both from dealerships and customers. It appears this shift isn't unique to Bronco; most of the various Ford forums are talking about the same thing - orders getting filled out of order and not in the priority Ford has always given orders of various types.
Yep, when everyone was reserving Ford made it very clear. Granted, there's always the disclaimer but I think it illustrates the bait and switch pretty clearly. They definitely set this expectation then quietly changed it later around order time.

Lets hope that the problems of supply are related to Ford, Ford's marketing policy, or Ford's supply issues only.
Unfortunately that is not likely...
As the country sinks into totalitarian socialism we will likely see shortages and delays of all kinds as well as unprecedented inflation.
There are just too many examples in history to argue the point,
In the mean time, Lets just hope we'll be able to get parts for our present vehicles, food on the table, and avoid an impending global conflict.
Fasten your seat belts folks and hope for adult leadership soon!
Oh! and please pardon my rant and pray that I'm paranoid

Would that keep you from misreading my mind?

 Do you think it would help to wrap my desktop?

Love your optimism!!
Sure hope you're judgement is correct!

Unfortunately I have lived for a third of the life of this country, and I learned to read at an early age.
There may be some small reason for optimism that things will balance out and the damage will be somewhat mitigated, but there will be scars.

This is what I was looking for. They also had a general version for all customer orders that said something to effect that all customer orders are fulfilled in order received; we've learned that isn't true for Rangers.

Well I'm only 32, but I know better than to not pay attention to what you old folks have to say.

lol...Well I'd rethink those words. There's a good reason we were able to be "old folks" and it's not from being blinded like some folk are. :sunglasses:

I found that in an old B6G thread about switching dealers from 7/15/2020...really wanted a screenshot of the terms that were out there when we started this whole thing. I was seriously starting to question my memory of the events until I found it.

I wasn't around for the Ranger launch so I think I may have fallen into the same trap. Seen some threads on people who ordered very recently getting the exact same builds as people with early reservations who are still waiting; no commodity restrictions at play. I knew some of that was going to happen as there are other logistics in play, but I was hoping for better. I guess that was naive; wasn't the first time, probably won't be the last.

Seems like Ford is really trying to make it look like they have a slick, modern sales channel, but the back end is weighed down by their legacy infrastructure. Like a pretty facade tacked onto an old building. Pretty common with a lot of big companies that have been around for a while, but man it gets ugly once the flaws start showing and customers are impacted.

MIC hard top 2.0 and guess what...It leaks!

Ford, just end this whole Bronco abomination now and go back to making cars! The Jeep forum must be having a ball with this. I know we would here if it were a Tacoma having all these problems. This guy is in PA can you imagine these hard tops in a Florida downpour? :rain:

Why on earth should someone value an inanimate hunk of metal more than an actual decent human being? I'd go so far as to argue that's what's wrong with this country right now.

I admire your viewpoint you are a good dude. Ps I donate to charities and otherwise am a good citizen to my fellow humans as well. Business is business, if I want to purchase a vehicle just not going to get emotional as to who sells it to me and what they earn. Call me selfish or cheap ( I prefer thrifty), I want a good deal for me.

That sucks!!! I dont agree with Ford on this at all!!, even though in my case, I think it benefited me. I was going to get a Bronco and with all the problems, I ordered a Tremor as a "fill in". I ordered from a very large dealer chain and got mine in 9 weeks, I see guys on here that ordered 2-3 months before me and are still waiting!! I am assuming they may have ordered from smaller, single owner dealers? Its not fair to the loyal customers or the dealers! Fords strategy to support only the biggest dealers is going to bite them in the A$$. At this point with the way they have handled this roll out and treated their dealer base and all the politics involved, I dont even know if I want a Bronco, Love my Tremor and with the 15-20 grand difference between a Badlands SAS and my Tremor, I can make this thing go anywhere or do anything the Bronco can (Except go topless :) ) For those looking for topless, Looks like Jeep is going to be selling a lot more "Extreme Recon" and 392 Wranglers than they thought. Sorry for your situation ?
