Next time you go out there head over to where it says Ancient Ruins (top left on map) and follow the signs to the Honanki Ruins. You can view the old ruins there and the petroglyphs which is really cool. From there head to the Outlaw trail which starts over by the outhouses. The beginning is somewhat rocky but nothing hard and about half way it turns flat and an easy ride out back to the fire road.

Another really good one is Diamondback Gulch. It's on the same fire road heading out to the Honanki Ruins but it's on the right side. That ones a little more challenging but still nothing to hard.

When we were in Sedona the wife wanted to see some of these sites, so off we went......in a Chrysler convertible rental. It did fairly good until I got to a dry wash that wasn't dry. She didn't get to see them that day. Needless to say that is why I wouldn't by a rental car for a DD. After I got through with that Chrysler I certanly wouldn't have wanted that one.

So, on the homepage, I saw Dave’s avatar as the most recent post to this thread. Of course, I rushed to the bottom of this thread, hoping to see his smiling mug but, no, just some pictures of rocks and sand - I absolutely love AZ - even had a vacation home there for a number of years, crashed my MTB and ate sand on trails there many many times, so I’ve already seen more than my fair share of rocks and sand.

Oh well, maybe next time. ?
