Log in to http://owner.ford.com and click on Support, SYNC Software Updates. This most likely will resolve the "Network Connection Needed" notifications that we've been seeing. I'll apply the update at lunch and report back.

I would provide the direct link to download, but it looks like it may be tied to my account.

No-Go for me. I tried 2 different USB Flash drives, formatted to ExFat (also tried MS-DOS (FAT). Sync system says the "USB card is not compatible please remove". I formatted using an iMac but will try Windows 7 next.

iOS you need a special app to format the drive. USB drive must be exFat formatted. You need to extract the Zip file to the drive.

Windows is probably easier to create these drives.

I did that (The Mac OS Disc Utility will format ExFat) and I also tried Windows . Same thing. This USB device is not supported. Please Remove

I'm out of ideas except to have the dealer do it.

Make sure to extract the Zip file to your USB drive and put the files in the root of the drive.

I would try a PC next if you can.

Hmm, I've had troubles with some thumb drives even when they're formatted correctly. Not sure what causes it to be honest, but I just kept trying different drives until I found one that worked. I'm currently using a 128gb micro sd card in a USB adapter and it works fine.

I'm currently using a USB 2 drive, I'm not sure if Sync 3 can read a USB 3 drive.

Yep. Did that. I'm just at a loss now. I guess I need to try a different flash drive as Josh discussed.

Unfortunately, the Sync system will not keep a reliable WI-Fi connection to my home network so I can't use that method either.

Yeah..my Wi-Fi in the garage is good, but I can't get it to work for the update. I have 3.3 installed since the factory. Might try the thumb drive route. If I am successful, I will report back.
