I will bite. I dont think it looks too bad. I think its better looking in black than the lighter colors.
I bought the Ranger looking for a "small" pickup. but we all know the 5G ranger is pretty big still. I am to the point were I will admit I have been looking at the option of moving back into an F150.
But I will also admit my usual payload is 5 empty beer cans and a shovel. And my "off roading" is a dirt parking lot, and the way things are changing around me it seems everything is getting paved over anyway.

All of the small/midsize trucks are slowing growing in size. From the looks of the latest post about the Nissan Frontier , even that appears larger than the older version. I honestly miss the size of my 87 ranger, well what I really miss is that it was a beater. So its nice to see somebody offer a small pickup again. even if It's not for me ( right now) !

I was just thinking though that the Fx4 sort of implies 4x4, but whatever.
Understood. It would be weird to make up a new "off-road" package though when everyone is familiar with the FX4 branding as an off-road package. Interesting what it offers when I looked it up.

RP posted a good graphic somewhere showing the differences, an f150 is almost 15-20% larger side by side in size to a Ranger. Maverick inches out a little bit smaller than the Ranger. IMO the Ranger is quite small, whenever I am next to a normal f150 I feel like the little brother.

This is a cool little pickup though. Especially fits your needs of beer cans and a shovel and when you do want to hit a trail you can as long as its paved well! :giggle:

And the Maverick is actually bigger than the Ranger in the cabin in many aspects.

It looked very square and roomy inside from what I could tell. I definitely can see that.

Meh, looks pretty good for what it is. I'm sure it'll hit the target for cross over / small suv buyers looking for a bed to throw stuff in
And, at the end of the day, arent we all just looking for a bed to throw our junk on???

Junk or camping toys. Same use, a big bed is nice.

People give the Ridgeline a hard time and in many ways I get it. However, it is almost as roomy as an F150 crew cab and has a wider bed than the Ranger, so there's more usable room there. It has a 1500lbs payload. It's interior treatment is miles ahead of the other midsize trucks. If it could remotely off road and wasn't so ugly, I'd be tempted. The Santa Cruz and Maverick being far less capable than the midsized trucks, including Ridgeline, are less appealing to me but I can see how the urbanite that does weekend stuff would be drawn to them. I also think Maverick and Santa Cruz are god-awful ugly.

Yeah these vehicles definitely fit a certain person and I can see lots of wives of truck families wanting one as it's not as big, wide and clunky. Or the casual camper/surfer. Or heck, anyone wanting a bed but not an actual truck, truck. Whatever that means. Plus the interior looks very nice.

I'm not going to hate on it. In fact, I will probably try to buy one when my 12 year old turns 16. Hopefully, by then, I can get a nice used AWD one in the low teens. I think it would be a great first car.

The exterior size and utility of the ranger with the cabin size and utility of the Maverick is my ideal truck.
So a Jeep Gladiator? ?
