Problem is even if you get more than what you paid and put into it, you now have to buy something to replace it which will likely be overpriced no matter what you buy. My prediction is prices won't get back to normal until fall 2023 when the chip makers finally catch up.
Exactly unless you down grade or get something totally different.

The only saving grace would be if you have another vehicle (to two) already. This way you can sell the one with the most value and bank the money until prices settle down in a few years. Just like lumber when it peaked a few months ago it will eventually come back down. When is the million dollar question:question:

What prices are you seeing for 4x4 xlt, or lariat? Yeah, it's an insane market... I haven't said anything to anyone here but I have put my truck up just to see what bites I get, been getting messages at 55k 2020 Lariat 4x4 with tech package and 12k in mods.
Where were you listing it?

If I had my Bronco I would consider selling my Ranger now at these prices. Then I would wait it out until the next gen comes out, specifically the PHEV Ranger and buy one of those in year two. It's just like the housing market right now....A huge bubble waiting to burst.
Dave you have to wait till the Saber color is offered again. Which it will come around in about that time frame I Hope :like:

It's seems they didn't learn a damn thing from the last housing fiasco. But sadly I'm not surprised at all.

I could make $80,000 profit on my house right now after two years of owning it and go on the road with my wife as a travel nurse (she, not I) and when the bubble bursts we've got sufficient down payment for the newly reduced market. Some of these houses are making a $200,000 profit after two years. When that bubble bursts, I'll be lucky to break even. Sure wish I could've bought a house during the 2008 crash. And the bubble is burst in soon.
My truck is a 19 XLT sport for 15,000 miles on it. I paid 27 out the door. A dealer in Orlando has the same truck with 52,000 miles on it for $34,000. The new truck prices haven't budged but I can't find that carbonized gray with the technology package because I really miss that push button start and the adaptive cruise control. I might have to go and order one I guess it takes about 8-12 weeks to receive an ordered truck? Been searching all over Central Florida and not much out there unless I want to spend into the 40s for a lariat.

Nick, I don't want to be the bearer of bad tidings, but it took 4 months to get my special ordered Ranger. And that was before all the stupid stuff caused by covid kicked in with full force. If you do order just be aware that 4 months may be the base figure, and it could get worse from there.

In the good old days (a couple, three years ago) it only took 5 weeks to get the wife's special order Mustang. I'm afraid those days may be over though.

Incentives are pretty low on new ones right now, so expect to pay MSRP.
My local dealer has zero in stock but of new Rangers on dealer-order, they're pricing above MSRP.
Example: XLT 2x4, non-FX2.
MSRP: $35,385
Advertised starting price: $40,384
Advertised "Final price": $38,384

You might have to burrow down in some of the links to other forums in this article, but it looks like a lot of Ford vehicles are on hold right now. Including Rangers, Mustangs, F-series, Mavericks, Edge...don't know what's left after that list.

Hmm , the dealer I bought my tremor from has two cyber orange rangers & I believe a silver one. Cyber orange probably doesn't appeal to as broad of a market

Yeah I figured that's more like it. I talked to my sales guy yesterday and he said a good three months. The manager came over and tried to tell me 8 to 10 weeks. There's like no way he just wanted to get my business. Yeah I remember it used to take 5 to 6 weeks in years past and I know that's not where we are now.

Will you look at that. Today a little ol’ Chevy Rep is interested in buying and selling this vehicle. Man. Decisions.

Oh they want you in the door thinking your asking price is what they want to pay. If I was a betting man if you walk in that door two things will happen;

1. Low Ball based on original asking price.

2. Low Ball based on original asking price and try and sell you a replacement car at inflated cost.

Agreed. Didn’t even entertain it cause I’m not really selling. Just sitting for messages to see what the market is really like.

Another thing to keep in mind is MAP is trying to get the First Edition Bronco's out before the end of '21 production. Here is the scheduling for the next couple months, and it looks like the Ranger is being put on the back burner for a while. However, we are really close to the '22 order banks opening. Maybe things will change a bit then.
