Just ordered my first new pickup, a 4WD Ranger supercab. Put a $1000 down, dealer says 6-8 weeks but could be 12. Anybody have experience with this process lately? Seems COvid chaos is everywhere in supply chain.

6-8 weeks, possibly 12.

I know, smart ass answer, but I don’t think anyone really knows one way or another.

In the meantime, buy a bunch of little things you want to mod on the car and have it all ready by the time the car comes in :)

I ordered my 2021 STX 4x4 supercab on March 3rd, and it arrived at the dealership May 21st. At first they told me it might come in on May 22nd or 23rd, but could be several weeks longer. There were almost no supercabs around in my area, and their dealer network turned up nothing. So I had to order one.

Wow. Thanks for your responses. I figured I may be waiting 12 weeks. Which would put me out to around Labor Day. There's So many variables with chip shortages, Covid-19 excuses, on and on.

You just ordered it now?

My bet is 6 months.

Should've found one on the lot.

Hopefully you'll lose that bet, and obviously if I could have found one on the lot I'd be driving it. I'd be test driving the new generation 2022 Frontier before I wait six months, and I don't want to be in any pickup that doesn't say Ford or Chevy on it. You're likely Debbie Downer SNL skit!

Ordered my Super Cab on 09/01/20, arrived at the dealer 12/06/20. It took awhile. But, I will say it was worth the wait.

That sounds encouraging! There's really no reason I can't wait 4 months instead of three, other than I want my Ranger! I Drive 500-600 miles a week for work, and now have a 2019 Sentra. Reliable, excellent mileage, but boring and not a pickup! I have a 1999 Chevy S10 with 72,000 miles that my dad owned for 21 plus years, but that's a weekend and occasional ride I don't want to make a road warrior out of. I looked at Colorados but there's something ugly about their lines from the side, that rise that mismatches the cab with the box. To me anyway. And the local Chevrolet dealer here in is abysmal in sales and service. Life is too short to deal with them. So I'm waiting for my Ranger, reading the pdf owner's manual, and looking at tonneau covers, bed mats, but not tailate dampeners...you already have your hand on the tailgate, why not just let it down slowly, or softly?
Really enjoying the 5G forum though!

Keep in mind MAP was shut down for 2 weeks and just got back from their break about a week or so ago. Now add in the chip shortage and it could be an even longer delay. Not trying to be negative here but just giving you real world info.
