Any way to get more info on backordered Ford parts? My new Tremor has been plagued with a 'bad driveshaft" and the part is on backorder with a unknown ETA. Otherwise my truck sits in the service lot....

They at least give you a loaner? Seems to be a common problem. I had to wait 15 days for new injectors and almost 60 days for a new leather seat bottom.

Yeah. Ive got a mustang but it has a bad front wheel bearing @ 23000 miles....Quality #1?...I also bought a truck, not a car for a reason. Unfortunately, it is almost undriveable as it is....so an extended timeline is not really acceptable....

I hear you. I am not defending them, but this seems to be a widespread issue not just with Ford. Crazy times we are in.

I'll chime in on this one. I had to wait more than 5 months to get a plastic trim piece for my pickup bed. I had almost forgotten I ordered it.

Yeah..didnt believe you were...just frustrated at this bullshit where everything, everywhere is on backorder and the government just keeps paying people to sit on their asses. People need to get back to work. I didnt get a single day off nor a single dollar from the government.

I would open a case with Ford customer relations and see if they can do something to prioritize your case.

When we got our 2020 Lariat, a rear axle seal started leaking after only 64 miles and the parts were on backorder. It took about another week to get it fixed, but I ended up with a free Ford Protect extended warranty after I expressed my complete displeasure with the situation.

I have found that contacting Ford via their twitter customer service account was much less frustrating than dealing with them over the phone.

My Ranger has been in the service lot for most a month now waiting for a new gateway module. My biggest fear is that it won't fix the issue and they'll just order another part.

These damn people need to get off of unemployment and get their asses to work. That has something to do with it in my opinion. I am sick and tired of hearing Covid excuses, and I would be willing to bet that isn't true in at least some, maybe even most of the cases. I had my truck scheduled to get a linex liner installed, local shop said they can't get materials due to Covid, don't know what they are going to do, every thing at a stand still. Called a shop 50 miles away. getting done in 2 weeks. It at least shows piss poor planning on someone's part.

Yea I agree. I am sure all the parts that are on "backorder" or difficult to source are made by third part manufacturers. Most are probably having a hard time getting people back to work because of the extra $$$ the Fed is paying on unemployment.

Or maybe the employee that used to work there found a better paying job that didn’t require him (or her) to suck Linex fumes all day.

They wear masks and get paid very well, and the owner doesn’t have an employee problem directly. It’s his suppliers. But I’m getting done somewhere else, so whatever.

Just a little insight, may not help you specifically MIBuckeye

I manage a Construction Fleet of about 45 3/4 ton and above Ford Trucks and Vans (and a handful of GM and International Diesels). On top of that 100's of pieces of machinery as well. You have to get creative to find parts in the situation we're in..... eBay, Rock Auto, Salvage Yards, and most of all.... Request that your dealer look into if the part in question is in stock at neighboring dealers. It's worth asking them, if you have not (for anyone stuck in this situation). Dealers want to make the most off of selling parts, by buying them direct from their supplier, not buying them off of other dealers. It's ALWAYS worth asking and has saved my ass more than a hand full of times. Sitting and waiting for parts is not acceptable in my positions, so I exhaust every option I can find.

Lots of overseas sourced parts in all industries are dealing with shortages due to backups from the ports in California. I repair copiers and have had to wait 2 or 3 weeks for some of my parts to arrive from overseas.

Thanks for the reply. The issue is that the part is brand new and only used on the Tremor. OEM is the only source at this point and the dealer has checked other dealers im told. I typically don't sit back and wait, but this one may just be out of everyone's hands.
