Only rubs the front plastic when backing up.Do you think Pro-Comp or similar aftermarket crash bars would eliminate the rub?
I was definitely going faster than I should have, but you're absolutely right: they wouldn't make a difference. But you know about cars, my wife doesn't. And when she's telling me no more purchases that I don't need, I have to find creative ways to justify things. "Well you see hon, since shocks impact handling...."HI Jacob,
How fast were you going that shocks would even enter the equation? Call me puzzled but this does not make sense to me.

No damper here. I'm sure it if I had one, it would've DAMPENED the crash! ?Trying to blame it on the damper no doubt ?
Shout out to a fellow retired militaryI finally got time to install the Bilstein 5100 rear shocks this morning. Took about 20 minutes and then a test drive. Big difference on ride quality. I don't think i will need to upgrade the fronts,..at least not yet.
I used a jack on my back hitch and lifted the truck body a few inches to relieve the shocks slightly. After that it was very easy. Compressing the shocks wasn't too bad. I over compress the shock and then slip the bolt in as the shock slowly extended by the hole.
Yup, idiots panick buying cause the media tells them.because this......

Don't you need to leave the inserted sections in place and saw them off flush, as the aftermarket ones are designed to go inside of the remaining sections? Nice to know you can get them out intact though.I took off my stock crash bars in tack. I am waiting for the new ready lift to come via Fedex.

Not according to the Ready Lift instructions I read.Don't you need to leave the inserted sections in place and saw them off flush, as the aftermarket ones are designed to go inside of the remaining sections? Nice to know you can get them out intact though.
I guess the Ready Lift differ from the Fabtech in this regard. Not according to the Ready Lift instructions I read.
They do.I guess the Ready Lift differ from the Fabtech in this regard.
Honestly I preferred the Readylift but I couldn't tell for sure if they would clear 295/70r17 with +1mm offset on a 3" lift. The Fab's look to provide the most clearance without removing them altogether. Hence, I have Fabtech's sitting here for when my truck arrives. If I could verify the above I might change my mind. They do.
I'm still waiting on Fedex. I may try 295/70/17 but was planning on 33' s, 285/70/17. I will have to see how much clearance I have once installed.Honestly I preferred the Readylift but I couldn't tell for sure if they would clear 295/70r17 with +1mm offset on a 3" lift. Let me know if you try the 295's! What lift are you going with? I already have wheels/tires so I'm committed on that part.I'm still waiting on Fedex. I may try 295/70/17 but was planning on 33' s, 285/70/17. I will have to see how much clearance I have once installed.
