FORScan - Where to start?

I have just downloaded FORScan and I have the proper cable to connect to the truck. But, I have not clue where or how to start!!!! Any pointers? I'm interested in bambi mode, displaying the speed limit signs on the center console, and disabling the fake engine noise. Thank you for any pointers!

First thing, until you are sure of your skills, don't mess with anything "as-built".

Latest Forscan user interfaces are really easy to work with and you'll find lots of info on forum thread and later youtubes. Most choices now are enable, disable, not a positional numeric input (like change value in position 7 to A in a code field that looks like xxxx xx?x xXxX xxxx.

Take advice from forscan download site on DivX connector to buy, their top choice has worked flawlessly for me, although I can't say the same about me and mashing keys on keyboard?


Take your time, read directions twice.

Relax, it's easy.

Follow first step, don't screw with as-built.

Thank you guys!!!!! I was hesitant to try hooking up to my truck until I had a little more of a grasp of what to do because I didn't want to @#$% anything up important! I appreciate the direction and I will start looking at it on Saturday!

Easy change and we'll worth it in my opinion. If you do it, then off the auto volume control via dash menu also.

Just be sure to back up the stock module settings before you make any changes. In the event something goes wrong you will need those to revert back. Without them... Well.. Good luck.

Yes, You want to go down this road. If you do nothing other than the fake engine noise (Engine Sound Enhancement I believe it is called in Forscan), totally worth it.

I did that one, plus two others:
disabling the horn honk when exiting with the key fob (for push to start models) and changing the panic button to require a 2x press (avoids accidentally hitting it while in pocket).
