Meh, that’s nothing. The registration renewal for my wife’s Explorer was $834 here.

On the bright side, it’s always a good day when you come home from work and see a large box waiting for you in the garage! Bak Revolver X4S. I didn’t even know it had shipped yet, and here it is, just 2 days after ordering. I don’t even get that type of speed with Amazon Prime anymore, and here this was a small NC business that got a large 80lb box across the country to me in NV in that time. Impressed!!

Install was pretty easy too, once I realized there was a second bag with Ranger specific parts, lol.

Edit: I don’t know why I can’t get this first photo to rotate vertically. I blame it on me doing this on my phone.

Hi Jacob,

Every time I am at Home Depot or our local True Value and need to roll up my Revolver, I get people coming over and asking me questions. The folks have never seen anything like this before. I should be a sale engineer for BAK.... Nice looking cover and great install. I installed mine before I found the unique Ranger pieces and had to uninstall it and install the Ranger pieces...No instructions, but I figured it out... So called BAK and they listened to me...hope you found some instructions. Anyway....I think the Revolver is top drawer... Seems there is a wow factor with it. Mine is over 2 years old now...

I had a similar one on my F-150 years back, either the Roll-X or the X2, whichever Bak was selling in 2012 or so. Loved it then, and the only issue I ever had with it was how hot the aluminum got in the south Texas summer. If you weren’t paying attention and touched anything other than those foam strips...yowza! I’m hoping the black powder coat helps some? I tried to keep an open mind when shopping around this time, but have never liked how the tri-folds block the rear window or rear against the cab (some do) and the soft roll-up covers seem not much better than a plastic tarp. The Revolver is the best of both worlds!

They had instructions in the box for me, just in the separate vehicle-specific bag that I didn’t see til after I already attached the rails. Oops.

Yes I remember all to well. I buy a new truck every 3 years for business plus when times were really good back there I also had a new van. Then add my Corvette and motorcycle it was a big chunk of change to pay out just to drive on crappy roads! I swear it was smoother going off road than it was driving on the Main Street there. At least here the roads are like glass and the only bumps in the roads are the speed bumps. ?
Got to be the heat remelting the pavement/asphalt every day...

Lol you'd think with the temps we have here it would. One thing they do well here is build roads. They use a rubberizes asphalt here and a concrete base. Back east they were some of the worst I've ever drove on! Even brand new ones done in the fall would be full of pot holes and ripples by spring.

I'm curious about the load bar also.
Great work! Any interest in selling the 3d printed parts? Sorry if you mention this elsewhere.
Thanks all. Like Dhass68 shared earlier, I posted some details about the bed divider here:
https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/thre...o-your-ranger-today.4696/page-490#post-247192

I had Ford's stowable bed extender in my F-150 years ago, but since they don't make anything like that for the Ranger, I had to start looking at other ideas. Didn't like the prices of other bed extenders, and realized that I only ever used mine as a bed divider. Couldn't find any that I liked for the Ranger, so decided to make something. Originally it was going to be just for me, but since there seems to be interest, I'm working out a couple of kinks and planning to do a run sometime this summer. No pricing details yet, so stay tuned!

They cheap out on roads up here now. Use to be 3 to 5” of coarse crushed stone followed by 2 to 3” on #2 stone. That gets steamrolled until “locked in” then sand that’s rolled some moreThen you can put your base coat of asphalt and then top coat.

Most of the roads up here that need repaving now just get milled and have another top coat put on. Doesn’t fix the drainage issues (pot hole makers) or loose base.

Then we also have the shovel holder brigades. You know, 8 guys leaning on their shovels watching one young guy work his tail off ?

Everyone wonders why we got the pot hole dodge-athon every year.
