I just ordered the 6112 leveling kit from Stage 3. I have a couple questions from reading the installation instructions. It looks like the dust boot is not reused. Wouldn’t you want a dust boot for your front struts?
I have also heard that because of the larger diameter of the strut housing, most hand spring compressors won’t work? Anyone able to use a rented spring compressor from the auto store with these?

The strut is a larger diameter so the dust boot will not fit.

How are you liking your 6112 Bilsteins? How do they ride on road? I'm currently running 5100s all around, but they ride really harsh and I'm trying to decide if I should stick with Bilstein or go with the Fox 2.0 setup. I use my truck as daily driver and would like it to ride a little softer on street, and easy to medium off-roading trails a couple of times a month. Anyways any feedback on the 6112s is appreciated, haven't been able to find any feedback about them specifically on the Rangers.

Are you using the stock coils?
I have 5100's all around too but I put the 3" lift 550 eibach coils on front and they are the definition of soft and are perfect for on road.

I actually want something stiffer because my goal is to hit some moderate speed trails, specifically a UTV course open to prerunners here in Texas.

Sounds like the 6112's would be the right balance for you. Just waiting on feedback on them.

Correct, stock coils + top setting is probably the issue from what I've read. I was worried about spending money to purchase new springs/get them lowered and still not be happy with them, and also I like the truck level. I'm hoping to do more off-roading this year (rock crawling though, low speeds), as there is less stuff to do at the moment cause of Covid. I went ahead an placed order for the 6112's today from Stage 3 as most everything I've read is pretty positive especially for the price point. We'll see how they behave.

I would think that the extended length upper and lower A arms would make 550 lb. springs feel softer than normal, no?

Yea more leverage so a greater force. I wanted to see how it would be. And no sway bar so the coils have a lot on their plate lol. I think 600's or 650's would be good.

You're gonna run an external bypass in addition to the coilover? What size? How many bypasses? Are you gonna run air bumps too?

This is the rabbit hole I was talking about...

Yes I am going to run coilovers, bypasses, and bump stops. What size? Well it looks like 2.5's on everything.
As for the bypass, looks like a 2.5 with piggyback res with either 2 or 3 tubes.
Something like:
PR2506-BP2P or PR2506-BP3P
I'm looking to buy in August so if kings still have a delay I might go with a Bilstein bypass such as
9100 series or 9200 series.
As for bump stops I need to research the length but bilstein has 2", 3", and 4" travel 9100 series.

I'm learning more of the differences between digressive, linear, and progressive pistons and shock valving. The icon 2.5" external adjustable res extended travel coilovers are in stock, but they use a digressive piston and that's nice at slow and medium speeds, but I'm trying to learn how good it is at a bit higher speed. They have 10 click adjustments but I'm not sure if icon has bypass shocks so it looks like either king or bilstein for me.

Phew what a rabbit hole lol

My lower arms have mounts for a bypass shock but Bajakits has the upper mount in engineering development. They have a similar one available already for the Colorado. It mounts and is welded to the top of the coilover and is welded to the frame, then the bypass shock can be bolted up.

Here is the link to the mount that they have for the Colorado.

I just got confirmation that the 6112's have a spring rate of 600. Same rate as what someone else confirmed the king coilovers have.
