Was just curious. It didnt have anything to do with your problem at least preliminary considerations dont indicate it. im compiling a data list looking for links in ozone depletion related to mods purchased
I think Bill Gates is doing the same thing:LOL:

Mine has been at the dealer for 2 weeks now.

Misfire #1, overheating code. Went into limp mode pulled off, turned it off and started right back up. Temp gauge was normal. drove it home and no issue. Couple days later same thing on hard acceleration with a good amount of smoke on start up.

Mind you I am at 72k took it into the dealer and they are saying bad turbo, hope to get it back Monday.
New turbo installed and all smiles again!

I start having that problem today, same misfire when i accelerate to pass any car ... i will take it to the dealership by Monday...
Let’s see whats happens
Keep us posted please.

I’ve been meaning to update this for months. All it ended up being was a loose connection. It’s been a while, so I don’t exactly remember what they said was loose though. My biggest complaint was how long it took the dealership to even look at my truck, they had it for a total of almost 2 months. I’ve put 15,000 miles on the truck since the fix with no problems.

If it would help anyone out, I could try to dig up the papers they gave me that said exactly where the problem was.
Yeah, definitely if you find it let us know. I don't tromp my truck often. Every now and again just to clear it out ?, but today pulling out from a stop and turning right, I got on it briefly, had a little bit of wheel spin and maybe accelerated to 50 mph. The message center chimed that my "Pre-Collision assist not available", (windshield clear, mid afternoon so not the usual frost blocking camera) then almost immediately I noticed erratic shifting and a good bit of surging/missing and the wrench light came on. I was on my way to the store down the road, so I continued in limp mode. After 5-10 minutes in the store I came out an restarted the truck and no wrench, no misfire and no problems. I'll have to try to accelerate a few times now to see if it does it again or if it was just a glitch of some sort.

If you dont mind me asking, was the turbo covered under powertrain warranty, or did you have to pay out of pocket?
Powertrain warranty is only 60k. So unless he had an extended warranty he paid out of pocket.

Well I got my truck back after a couple days and they said water had accumulated inside the spark plug tube for cylinder 1 causing the coil to short out and die. They replaced the spark plug and coil for cylinder 1 and everything is back to normal. They are not sure how water got in there in the first place because the coil has a seal in it for that very reason. Guess it’s something to keep an eye on.

Dealer offer a lifetime warranty, cost me $370.00, $100 deductable and it doesn't cover various gaskets and hoses. Better than the $2700.00 the bill was.

I'm trying to figure that out man....I've changed plugs in mine and no way water is "just getting in there". I would definitely keep an eye on that.....not buying it.

I've got a 5/125K with a $100 deductible the dealer sold me....probably the same one. I'm at 42K and would gladly pay $100 for a new turbo at 72K :like:

It was a loosing proposition for them, warranty is unlimited years miles, My last Colorado had 250k on it when I traded it for the Ranger. Hopefully will not have to use it much, this was the first issue.

Only problem I've had was the climate control module service bulletin issue. They changed the module under the factory 3/36K warranty.
I'm really interested to see how long my turbo last with a tune installed and pushing her pretty good daily. I'm not glad your turbo went out at all, but at least when mine goes they can't tell me it's the tune if I get close to your mileage. Turbo's go out/bad under normal driving conditions all the time.....at least that's my argument...lol. ;)

Got it fix, the coil #1 got bad with accumulating warer and that was sending the electric charge to the block instead of the spark...

Thank you for letting us know!

This “water in places you don’t expect “, had a 2005 Freestar van (great vehicle) and one day wife was out on a farm with it and it wouldn’t start.

Had CAA (AAA) tow it to the dealership.

They asked me if I had been driving though water because some control box was water-logged. I said “no” because I hadn’t.

Get home and tell my better-half what they asked me.... she says “oh yeah..... that puddle was huge, like Wonderland” (an amusement park water ride).

Is heavy rains/“puddles “ a thing to contribute to this?

Update - I got my truck back today. The dealership said it was a bad coil wire going to cylinder 1, they replaced it and the problem was fixed. I got on the interstate after picking up my truck, mashed the gas down to pass someone, and it started misfiring again. CEL started blinking. I slowed down to about 50-55, the light went off and it started running normally again. The misfire only seems to happen when you really push the pedal down, it runs fine just going slow around town. Taking it back to the dealer tomorrow.
My truck misfired for the first time yesterday. Except mine did it around 35 mph and went away when I floored it. Opposite of yours . Hasn't done it again yet
