Hey guys,

Like a good number of Americans right now, I'm getting some snow. Now the truck drives like a dream in the ice and snow but my god the front warning me that I'm going to hit something is really starting to piss me off. Ice starts to build up and I guess blocks the sensors so when I start to slow down (like at a red light or something) it starts going off even if there aren't any cars in front of me. Is there any way to turn this off? Just for when its snowing?

I looked in the driver assist settings and couldn't find anything.

Also, I'm going to be doing my first trail drive in a few weeks, will this sensor start going off again if its covered in mud?

Thanks

Snow set mine off last winter. Shame that there isn't a sensitivity setting. If you hit the alert off button does that keep it off? I wanna say that's what I did last year but I've not had it out in bad weather since.

One is adaptive breaking/collision module and the other is parking sensors. The latter you turn off with the button and the breaking/collision in done with instrument panel menu.

While driving back from Missouri the front sensors were frozen over and went off as I was pulling into a gas stations. Scared the hell out of me until I realized the problem.

its on your console....little P button with the radar waves
Yup, pretty easy to turn off in snowy/icy weather :)

However, I do wish there was a heating element of sorts on the radar antenna. I would like to keep pre-collision braking during winter driving. Mine often ices up :(

I think I will try spraying some ceramic coating on mine to see if that helps with build up. I bought turtle wax ceramic spray and used it on my snow blower. Worked well. I did not wipe it off like you would on paint.
